I've been taking the Multi EA with Iron from Bariatric Advantage. I also buy my calcium from them (or amazon). They have the iron and the proper type of calcium, so I like their product.

I take bariatric fusion complete chewables.  They taste good and include both iron and calcium, which a lot of bariatric vitamins do not.

Bariatric Fusion are not very good vitamins. The ASMBS recommends we get 200% of the RDA of a full range of  vitamins and minerals. Each Bariatric Fusion only has 25% of many things, so you would need to take EIGHT each day. It is missing other things entirely. And they are expensive. Any inexpensive centrum type generic is better than those.

No one single vitamin will have everything that we need.  I am simply following my surgeon's orders with the vitamins.  I would heavily argue that a centrum type vitamin would compare with the quality of any bariatric vitamin.  As for cost, it's one of the more affordable vitamins that I came across at about $30 per 120 vitamins.

Correct, there is no one single vitamin. But with a good quality vitamin you would only need two per day, not eight of the Bariatric Fusion. Just because it says it is a bariatric vitamin, it doesn't mean it is any good. There are some excellent ones out there, but Bariatric Fusion aren't.

After a year or so, most of us have switched to generics because of cost. Taking 8 of yours per day, 120 tablets would last only 15 days. That's 60 bucks a month. I got mine at CVS, their generic centrum equivalent, when they were BOGO. They have many things the Bariatric Fusion lack, and much more of everything else, so I need only two per day. I got a year's supply, two containers of 365 tablets each, for a total of 12 bucks. You'd be spending 720 bucks on the Bariatric Fusion over a year, and still would be missing some things.

Look, you have your opinion and your entitled to it, but I'm going to follow my surgeon's orders for now.  And I don't have to take 8 vitamins a day, that's just ridiculous.  When I'm a year post op maybe I'll look into switching.  And I never said that all bariatric vitamins are good, but there are a multitude of vitamins out there that are of a much higher quality than any centrum or generic version of centrum.  Centrum is a big name and has been around for a very long time, but the quality is questionable imo.

It really isn't a matter of opinion. Anyone who can read a label can see what the differences are. Bariatric Fusion is missing a lot of things we are supposed to be getting, and has very little of most others.

If you are taking what the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery says we are supposed to take, you would need 8 per day. Plus other calcium. That fact you refuse to take them is what seems ridiculous.

You can do whatever you like. But other new people reading this need to know what a good vitamin contains, and which don't. They in turn can make up their minds.

Opinions are opinions, and facts are facts. And the fact is, those are expensive and crappy vitamins.

An extremely important skill is learning to read nutrition labels, on both food and supplements.
