Never trust a fart

I had a successful VSG 3 years ago today. Lost  more than intended and have had no problems keeping the weight off (yay!)

Now onto the real reason I'm posting today...

I'm sure we've all heard to never trust a fart and I learned that lesson the hard way at about 6 months out and subsequently every 6 months to a year after that initial incident, until recently... It's happened upwards of 10 times within the last 8 months with 4 of those times being in the last 3 WEEKS! It seems like a daunting task to sit on the toilet every time I feel like I need to pass gas but it seems I have no choice. My stomach doesn't hurt or feel weird before it happens, it just feels like it's going to be a standard fart.

Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone deals with this issue as frequently as I have been before I start freaking out that I've got Chron's. Will be making an appointment with my GP to discuss this ASAP and hopefully get a referral someone better suited to assess and diagnose the situation.

LOL. Just LOL. Hope it's nothing serious. Just wanted to tell you that I too never trust a fart, especially with what happened with Al Roker.

Veni, vidi, flati!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

If you are eating anything with sugar alcohols, then stop.  Most bariatric vitamins are sweetened with things like sorbitol and maltitol.  Check the labels.  Don't eat things like sugarfree candy or sugarfree ice cream.  Get some Citucel fiber powder and have it in water twice a day.  Your problem will be over.

Maybe this is TMI?  This is a fear of mine.  Prior to starting my Dr. restricted diet I was regular and no big problems.  Now I get a feeling and I better be near a restroom.  No option to put it on recycle till I get to one either.  I went from almost every day to maybe once a week.  It can be scary.  I even carry extra clothes on occasion.  I haven't figured out the trigger food if that is what it is.  I feel for you.  I have heard only a little about Al Roker's experience but I can only imagine.  It's odd that eating healthier I have this problem.  I am scheduled for VSG  March 9th.  I've seen the Dr. 2xs and keep forgetting to ask about it.  I guess be thankful you have a toilet to be near!  :)  Best of luck with the Dr.
