So I'm sure many people have posted about this topic, but it got me to thinking I wanna try one. Are they a good idea? I'm 4.5 months post op and feel like I have been slipping a little. Anyone's opinion or advice would be great!

It's just a silly 5 day fad diet. And, you don't have a pouch.

You recognize you are slipping. Why not just address the issue? Get back to the plan you are supposed to be following, rather than shopping around for a different plan.

It was very helpful for me when I did it a few times. Helped me get cravings back under control and get stable blood sugars again. It also helped me rebuild trust in myself, by making purposeful choices and following up on what I said I'd do. I know a lot of people seem against it, but I think it has been a helpful tool for me.

True. I got to thinking about it more after I posted this and realized how silly this was.

I tried it a couple months ago.  I am about 3 1/2 years out; I cannot say it was really effective.  It seemed to help with my restriction but if we don't continue to practice the way we should be eating, in my opinion its a bit pointless.  You are still early out.  I would just go back to the basics: protein first & plenty of water.

Best of luck to you!!
