How long will I be off work?

I assumed I would be off work 4 weeks but from reading some posts I see some have returned sooner. I am having surgery on June 16 2015 and thought that I was told 4 weeks but I could be wrong. How long should I expect? I work in a factory 3rd shift building outside mirrors for cars.

I think you should discuss this with your doctor.  I was off only two weeks, but what I do is a "Desk" type job.  If you have a more physical job that may involve lifting your doctor may want you to be off longer.

I took two weeks, but wished i had gone back part time the third....depends on your age, job, etc.

I was off 2 weeks but wish I had taken more.  I puked the first day back to work and was so extremely weak and tired.

I was off 5 days and if I was off any longer than that I would have went stir crazy. I know everyone heals and feels differently after surgery.

Kinda hoping Im off the full 4 weeks but if not thats ok. I won't get bored because I stay with my grandson in the afternoons 4 days a week so we can get in lots of exercise also.

Remember that you'll probably have exercise restrictions immediately post-op.  I was only allowed to walk for the first 6 weeks after surgery.

You never know, you might surprise yourself!  The new me LOVES exercise, pretty much every kind.  I even started running which still boggles my mind.  :D  Walking, however, is always an awesome exercise.

I was off 5 weeks and was glad for every minute of it. I had fatigue issues and appreciated the time off to nap as needed and gain my strength. If you stand for your shift you may want to take the full 4 weeks.
