how do yall get the little racehorse at the bottom that shows where u started and where you are at?

Click on the gear icon, and then tickers. :)

I've also not been able to get the ticker to work! No matter what I do the lil guy is always at zero. How do I get him at my starting weight?

Are you logging your weight? (Click the plus sign in the top-right corner of the nav bar, then "log weight.") Without that, there's no data to populate the ticker.
