Topic: RE: Stall or Not Working?
someone who is not that overweight or someone with a lower BMI.
That's like trying to compare someone that has to loose over 200 lbs (like me) to someone who only had to loose 60 lbs.

Topic: RE: Hearing all this negativity...15 hrs prior to surgery
Your hearing negativity .. and that sucks .. but if you read on here for any length of time .. you will have a hard time finding many people who are not happy with their decision.
Am I happy I've lost 100 lbs .. yes I am!
I'm happy I've lost 10 sizes in my pants too.
I'm happy I used to wear a 4XL shirt and yesterday at my grandson's birthday party I had on a XL shirt.
I'm happy that I feel a lot better and can move easier.
I'm happy that I can sit in the movie theater seats without getting stuck or at the baseball game that I worked at a week or two ago.
I'm happy my feet are not so swollen that it's hard to even get my work boots on.
I'm happy that everybody notices me and says "wow you've lost weight!"
I'm happy that I have more energy and don't always ask my daughter to do things around the house all the time like I used to.
I'm happy because when my Fire Supply Coordinator that handles the uniforms for the Fire Dept I work for gave me ones that actually fit now and he held my old size 58 pants up in the air spreading them out and said, "God D*MN BOY!" and looked at me smiling, I knew that I would never be in those again.
I'm happy that the seat in my cars are not pushed as far back as humanly possible just so I can squeeze in there and still have my belly rubbing against the steering wheel.
I'm happy that I now have the willpower to not eat a whole pizza, a half pizza or ANY pizza at all and haven't for 5 months.
I'm happy that I have to keep punching holes in my belt to make it tighter and tighter so I don't have to spend $30 on a new belt every month from the Big and Tall shop.
Hey, I could keep going all night ... but my fingers are getting tired!
Listen to the negativity if you want to .. but there .. I gave you some positive to think about.

Topic: RE: What is everyone's problen with water intake?
I've wondered about this myself. Water is probably the easiest thing for us to possibly ingest into our new sleeves so I'm not sure why its such a problem for some folks. I have always loved water and much prefer that over adding some flavor to it .. that always just seems to make me more thirst to get that artificial flavor taste out of my mouth. I doubt things will change much for you after surgery, though you wont be able to gulp like you probably can now.

Topic: RE: How do I take my vitamins if I can't drink water with my meals?
That's easy ... drink your vitamins. I wake up, drink my vitamins then eat 30 minutes later. I'm done for the whole day. Take my vitamins and calcium all at the same time in the same glass. No popping pills all throughout the day like most other people. Vit B12 shot once a month.. its very easy and convenient.

Topic: RE: low blood sugar
While I can appreciate your not wanting to knock yourself out of ketosis, having hypoglycemia is not good either and is more concerning then you loosing a little less weight. This is a life threatening emergency, unlike much of the other nonsense I get called for. To me the decision would be quite clear that if your sugar is low .. you need to correct it. Eat something or take a dextrose tablet before you pass out.
Maybe you should talk to your doc and nut about increasing your carbs a little more if this is happening frequently. Last thing you need is to drop so low 911 is putting an IV in your arm and giving you dextrose because your unconscious. Everyone journey is a little different and maybe the 40g of carbs or less just wont work for you.

Topic: RE: OT: My cupcake obsession (pics and triggers)
You are really good at it! You should make a business out of it. People would love them!

Topic: RE: Ok, starting to have a REALLY hard time eating in front of coworkers
I agree with Ruggie 100%.
It seems like its more grief and frustration you going through all this then to just come out and say you had weight loss surgery. They are going to talk about it anyway behind your back so save yourself some stress and let them know. They are probably only talking about it so much because you have kept it a secret .. if you just put it out there it wont seem like such a big deal at that point. You hiding something kinda makes it a big deal to them though and they are dying to get something out of you I bet.

Topic: RE: 100 Lbs Lost! Century Club!
Awww thanks! It's so nice to hear things like that again! You ladies are the best!

Topic: RE: Two week liquid diet
I lost 12 lbs in a week and half. My surgery was scheduled after I started and it didn't allow enough time to get a full 2 weeks in. I didn't mind though and neither did my surgeon. I was ready to get it over with.
I was only on liquids for 3 days though. After that I switched to replacing 2 shakes a day with 2 small meals of lean dense protein and a veggie per my nutritionist.

Topic: RE: A Little Too Fast
My goodness that is moving you along fast! It took me over a year just to get approved by insurance after a mess up with documentation by my primary doc. That's impressive they can get you rolling that quick. Good luck with getting your mind in the right place to prepare! Keep coming back.

Topic: RE: 1 month post op
Just take it slow at first .. your sleeve may not like a lot of things you try to put in there at first but experiment.
Congrats on your awesome progress so far!

Topic: RE: What happens if we drink a soda?
Unfortunately, I have read on here on occassion (not often) where people claim that they still drink soda and won't give it up.
For me, I took 2 sips of diet coke while trying to stay awake at 3 am driving back home from visiting family in Ohio and the bubbles made my sleeve feel horrible. It was surely not worth it and I wont be doing that again.
I like loosing 100 lbs more then how diet coke tastes anyway.
Good luck!
