(((HUGS)))
Sorry for you loss - it is a whopper of a loss! We never get over not having our loved ones here but we move on and live our best life for them. They did not love us, care for us, do for us in vain. Our hearts are forever signed with their signature - they do not leave us ever - truly.
Take good care of you and your loved ones and . . . strangers. It mends us.
Best,
Layla

Wow, sorry about all of your issues. $1,000- for a psych eval - unheard of and I am in NYC! 12 ER visits at $250- co-pays - wowser! 30 and diagnosed with diabetes for 7 years - muy no bueno! Hypertension ugh. Plus all the other issues. And sorry you have to look at 2 poor Sleeve outcomes.
If you have 2.5 years before you are eligible to have WLS why not keep doing what you are doing. With all of the success you are having you will lose all of your excess weight before you are eligible for WLS. I mean you have put your diabetes in remission already - that is great progress because it is harder and less possible to do the longer you are diabetic because it begins to mimic type 1.
You are doing fantastic . Just keep doing what you are doing then when the time comes and if you need to consider WLS again, you can do so. You are so young but you also have serious ailments that will unfortunately return if you stop working like you've been to keep it away.
I wish you super success.
All best,
Layla

Never felt it necessary to tell everyone especially coworkers. Not their business. This is your life!
Shake it off and live your life.

Only you can decide if you'e made a mistake in having VSG. Maybe you did not need the surgery and could have lost and maintained on your own.
The point is, you can't get your stomach back.
All Best

So sorry about your dog.
This time, next year you will be able to eat more than you wish you could. Try to embrace this short break from food. You will, I hope someday soon love being sleeved.
(((HUGS)))😘

So I looked at some of your old posts - you should do so too to put things in perspective. In Oct. you were concerned about gaining bounce back weight and throughout your posts expressed fears of getting heavy again. I think maybe you should just chill out and see what your body does. You are still an early post-op and the further out you are the more you can eat. You do not want to set yourself up with eating too much as you say pre-op you were eating more than 3000 calories per day. (I personally was never ever in that high range and maybe why you lose at 1500 and I don't averaging 1300).
Just relax. Also I would not call you "skinny" from the photos you have posted. I think your face looks "skinny" as before weight loss there really was no acute shift in shape from your face to neck to shoulders. Now you have a well defined face and neck that makes us look "skinny" (you should see my skinny neck photos lol).
Be well hun - just chill and enjoy the holidays.

Geez, 1300 calories I average logging in every morsel - and I am constantly moving around. I don't loose a single pound. I am just curious, what made you overweight? If you have the tendency to gain I would ride this out. Our sleeved stomachs are simply restrictive. So unless you have something else going on with your metabolic system if I were you, I'd keep where I am at and trust that my weight will stabilize. It is not like you are not taking in a good amount of nutrition.
Hmmm I have so many ideas about what you can eat to gain weight
or at least stabilize. You can add some dairy (cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese - milk to your protein shake etc.) nuts, protein . . . peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter DELISH!!!
All Best to you,
Layla

As long as you are getting your protein, water and supplements in. You will be fine. Take advantage of this time.
And you've had weight loss surgery - odd that your mom doesn't get that that was the plan. Take it while you got it honey - wi**** were me
!!! A couple of months and even more so a couple of years out and you really will be able to eat and then have to work hard with food and weight.
You will be fine. Just take good care of yourself.
All best,
Layla

Fantastic!!! You are doing such a wonderful job!

Thank you for this post Kairk. Congrats on your success! This is some journey for sure.
Best,
Layla

I hope you have the very best outcome. You've done your homework and seem to know what you are working with. You will succeed as long as you keep working hard at it every single day
All best 😘

Good Luck Lucky!!! lol ![]()
You will just fine. I hope you will love your stomach sleeved as I do.
The biggest tip is follow your post-op intructions to a tee. If you have an ignorant nutritionist that encourages you to incorporate bread or carbs into your diet early out, don't listen - especially if you have a sensitivity or some chemical reaction to carbs. Just sayin' because you have a fresh start. If you have weight loss goals, if you want to develop lasting eating habits stick to your goals. It is hard to turn back once a door is open.
Early out it is just getting your liquids in . . . and protein . . . and your multivitamin etc. Concentrate on healing and as each day passes you will get better and better. You will need to rest. If I am remembering - I think your band is out?
All best Lucky. I will be thinking of you and sending good vibes and prayers.

It is so hard to believe you came from such big numbers! Even pre-plastics your body did nor look so bad - I mean your breasts did not even look like they needed any work at all. But now you look fantastic! Live your life girl! Many blessings🙌

What does your doctor say? Do you have post op instructions?
Good luck ![]()

You look real good!!!! So glad you are happy being sleeved.
Blessings,
L.

Yes. It is government insurance managed by each state. It is insurance for people who can't afford insurance. In NYC, we refer to it as the gold card. It pays for everything private insurance does not. Like No co-pays or deductibles nor fees whatsoever (goodbye $500- hospital fee, goodbye $250- emergency fee, goodbye $200 ambulance fee farewell $2000 deductable for out of network providers, etc- agh that felt good!!!). It covers dental, optical, and in NYC free cell phones (2 per household) & service. Just added is prescriptions and vouchers for the farmers market - too help poor people eat more fruits and vegetables and maybe ward off illness lowering medicaid costs.
So yes its health insurance and its a mighty fine one at least in NYC. I've always heard we had some of the best - maybe because we pay outrageous taxes.

Good job Emily!!! So happy that you are doing well. Keep working the heck out of it and you will keep the results. Like brushing your teeth or bathing - we can get away with a night or two but honey the build up shows
lol.
You are amazing hun, a true inspiration at 3 years post-op when the reality of it all has settled in.
Best,
Layla

You look fantastic and you are amazing!!! Congratulations on your successful journey
