I am up to eating 1000 calories a day now and because I am also not exercising the weight loss has really slowed down.
As for restriction, I can eat about 4 oz at a meal. Once in a while I have an extra bit or two...The result is never pleasant.
I already know that my long term struggle will be sticking to eating 4 small meals a day. I can see how easy it would be to go to four or five meals and suddenly be grazing all day.
I am an expert on the part were I loose the weight but not so much with the keeping it off part. I have developed some new skills and have actually begun (more often than not) to think of food as fuel. I come here a few times a week for fellowship. I am also working with a therapist.
You came to the right place for help and support.

Actually, with better pre op education and treatment of underlying mental and emotional issues, more people than ever are keeping their weight off.
My response is, "your commitment nets are not helpful to me, but thanks so much for your concern"

I made rice in batches and froze it as sides from my family. They also some got instant mashed potatoes.
As for the rest, I did taste as I cook in the beginning but soon realized that I was full by the time the meal was done cooking so I at just a spoon of two of dense protein with the family.
Now we mostly have boxed meals (Green Chef and Gobble are my favorites) for dinner. I chose the high protein, low carb options from the weekly choices.
The portion for one person is enough for me to take to lunch the next day.
Everything but salt, pepper and oil come in the box, and no tasting necessary.

It seems I lost weight in the reverse order that I gained. My thighs and butt took a long time to reduce significantly. I am down 120 pounds and my thighs are finally melting way.

One pouched egg. I only ate yoke. If you read carefully you will see that the person made TWO eggs (and melba toast) but only ate 4 bites.

Women at taught put themselves last so anytime we want something for ourselves we feel guilty.
We need to stop this s@#t.

Coffee with heavy cream
6 oz Yogurt fortified with 10grams of protein powder, 1 tablespoon of mashed apricot.
1oz hard goat cheese, 2 oz baked ham
3oz cheese clean, 1 chicken liver, 1/2 cup of yellow squash, butter
Snacks: 2 calcium gummies, 4 vitamin C gummies

Apnea is a big concern with anesthesia. My sleep study was borderline and the sleep team recommended a mouth appliance but the bariatric surgeon insisted I use the cpap for a few weeks before surgery.

Real shine? My (adult) kids have a still, no one has gone blind yet. We have picked and froze 20 gallons of wild blackberries and are going to distill brandy!

We in the 100% totality arc. We are having a pool party because our pool deck has a full view of the eastern sky without and streetlights! Having brunch after.
I was born in Budapest, Hungary on the day of a total eclipse and would have seen one in Boston in 1957, but it was a cloudy/rainy day...

I've been indulged it more fruit and vegetables and neglecting my protein for about a week now, this morning I went into the kitchen to make myself a bowl of yogurt and peaches... fresh organic peaches from our own trees... and decided to make sausage and eggs (we have chickens too) instead. I balanced and froze the peaches I picked yesterday so they will stop tempting me.
One day at a time.

I take 900 mg of neurontin a day. Haven't had any problems with it. Probably something to discuss with your medical provider.

it's not the insurance company, it's the policy you or your employer chose that excludes bariatric surgery.
Ask your employer to get another plan. Maybe offer to pay part of the difference in premiums?
Insurance companies tell you that you can appeal because they are legally obligated to tell you you can appeal.

If the nut is part of your surgeons practice then your diet was supervised by the surgeons.
Call the insurance company and ask. Don't mention your PCP's "concern".

I had a 40% off your entire purchase coupon so during the January Old Navy winter clearance and got a bunch of size 14-16 cloths ( my "dream size"!) for this coming year. Because, I couldn't imagine being any smaller and, you know, it was such a good deal...
Me, smaller that a size 14/large? No way! Turns out I currently fit into size medium at Old Navy, sometimes a small in tops.
Gwen is right, don't pre buy.
Also, I am amazed at the high end regular size stuff I am fine doing in thrift stores...A (size 10!) Evan -Picone dress with the tags still on it for 19.99, it was 40% off on "senior" day at Value Village. And, even better, a 9 West dress with a great belt for $3.00 and a Jansen bathing suit for $1.00 at the Feral Cat Coalition Thrift Shop. Both size 12. All fit perfectly.

I found it much easier to use a small notebook that I took everywhere.
I kept the measuring spoon and scale on the counter all the time.
I often measure food and put a few days portions in small containers (from the dollar store) or those tiny 4 oz Madison jelly jars in batches ahead of time.
I logged water, vitamins, exercise and (at first) blood sugar and insulin on the left page and food on the right side page.

If you are inactive and in pain you could be constipated or retaining water.
No, the sleeve doesn't cause "hormone fluctuations" and in any case changes in hormone less led don't significantly effect weight.

Try several shakes but don't stock up because you might not like the taste or the sweetness after a few weeks. I ended up using mainly the unflavored powder that I added to unsweetened cashew milk or 2% cow or go at milk.
I got most of my early vitamins and protein powder on line from "Unjury".
Don't buy or make too much. I just fed half of the 4 oz cont of puree I made and froze in October go my dogs.

I don't monitor my fat intake at all but with getting in enough protein and only being able to eat 3-4 oz at a time, it really doesn't amount to much fat.

600-800 calories per day for the first 12 weeks, then I increased it to 1000 calories a day. Generally I am between 900- 1000 calories a day now. My weight loss is slow error than "average" but it's been consistent.
I weigh 100 pounds less than I weighed in July 2016.

Gwen, my clinic (at the hospital where I work) defines success based on statistics. Using a formula based on the "average" out comes for other WLS patients your age starting weight who have the same surgery. It's likely the same scale yours used.
The "average" for a 64 year female who starts at around 300 pounds is 40 pounds in the first 6 months and fourth more in the next 12 months. I actually busted into tears when she told me this at my pre op appointment. I decided not to be average. My goal is to be fit and healthy. I don't need to be ultra thin but remaining obese, or even "overweight" after having major abdominal surgery just didn't work for me.
As for the clinic statistics. The initial weight losses improved dramatically once the multi disciplinary approach was initiated. And continue to improve every cycle. The five year numbers not so much.

Hives can be caused by hormone surges, thyroid and even stress.
If you were infertile due to obesity, even a small weight loss can trigger ovulation.

I took two weeks off but could have returned to work 4 days post op. My job is mentally challenging and stressful and while not physically demanding my fit bit claims that I walk 2-3 miles a day on campus and walk back and forth 1.5 miles to another hospital 3 times a week.
I find that my eating is better/more structured on days that I work.

8-10 times a week?! wow :)
what kind of things do u take with u?
At restaurants and catered meetings I eat from the choices I am offered. The in house meals almost always have a grilled protein choice, like chicken of fish.
When I take food from home. I work out exactly what I can eat all day and then portion it out into four meals.
Yesterday (not a work day) :
4oz yogurt (+ 1/2 scoop of unflavored protein powder) with a teaspoon of unsweetened fruit (organic apricot baby food is my favorite)
Nuts, Turkey and Swiss cheese 1 oz of each
8oz (1/2 bottle) of Atkins protein water with 2 oz of "super foods" (green fruit) juice. (Traveling)
2oz steak, 1/4 cup greenbeans, 2 marble sized roasted potatoes.
My goal is less than 25 grams of carbs and at least 60 grams of protein. Yes, I drink fruit juice. I don'****ch fat or calories at all. But it's nearly impossible to get more than 100 calories a day eating 3-5 oz of anything (aside from ice cream, cheesecake or butter) four times a day.
I keep single serving "diet" ice tea packets, a can of tuna a pack of lemon juice and one of mayo and a tiny spoon in my purse at all times. Very good in a food "emergency".

In a way following my plan and eating 3-4 small well spaced meals throughout the day is "intermediate fasting". I know that if, for some reason, I miss a meal I feel like it.
