I got the hard no on ANSAIDS before my WLS, but when I had work done on my eyes in February no amount of narcotics or Tylenol would stop the pain. On the third day, when the swelling was threatening to open my stitches, I was OKed to take 800 mg of Motrin with food once every 24 hours for a week. Sometime I've just isn't enough. Plastics cost big $ and uncontrolled inflammation can effect your outcome. Ask your bariatric surgeon for advice.

Read up on EXPAREL and then talk to your plastic surgeon about it. It's an injectable used for abdominal surgery pain. I don't know how much it costs but unless it's crazy expensive I am going to use it then I have my PS

No, but I doubt I have it.

I don't snore or wake up tired but my surgeon insisted I get checked and I did have apnea and enough to qualify as a co morbidity.

I have a new tablet and the spell check has a mind of its own!

I was sleeved 10\25 and have been on a keto diet for about 4 months. I do not have a gallbladder. I add extra fat, to get extra calories, two days a week but other that that I don'****ch fat at all.

I'm down from a (tight) size 24 to a size (well fitting) size 16!

I have been on a me to diet since getting off liquids. 1 gr carb:4 gr protein.

I feel great my hair isn't falling out and my skin is bright. There has only been one week in the past 5 months that I didn't lose weight. I don't know why my ticket doesn't show up but I've lost 60 pounds as of last monday.

I am 5 months post VGS and I eat 600-800 calories most days 1:4 ratio 20-25 grams carbs: 80-100 grams protein. I do no****ch my fat at all. The other two days I aim for 1000-1200 calories same 1:4 ratio. I lose 1-3 pounds every week.

Because I eat eat three time a day most days I feel like with three meals and two snacks, I eat all day on those days. Lots of the calories are from fat.

I do continue to log my food, vitamins, exercise, blood sugar and blood pressure.

Works for me. My NUT isn't thrilled but agrees that my food choices are good and that it's working.

I have had many minor and three sever episodes of orthostatic HBO in the past few days. I get plenty of salt. I find that elevating my legs for half an hour really helps. My NO has been so like that my home machine can't read it. It was 88/?? manually on saturday. I will see my PC about this next week

I love meal services because I barely have to taste anything.

Gobble is my favorite because they even cut up most of the ingredients and most of the meals take less than 15 minutes. I chose low calorie meals or meals where the carbs are on the side. I get three meals out of one serving. Because the veggies are prepped they don't keep as well as some of the others PM me if you want more info. I have a few coupons sent in my last delivery.

Hello Fresh costs more but it has 100% certified organic food and offered more tailored menus. We use the "meat lovers" menu. I have a coupon for free trial meals.

I couldn't sleep without take my Ambin for about three weeks. I did not do any kind of pre up diet or loss weight during my 6 month pre up period. I always have a bit of trouble sleeping when ever I cut calories so I think it was due to the drastic change in my diet.

I am almost 5 months post op now and I sleep about 7-8 hours a night , down from 8-10 hours a night before surgery.

You won't gain fat unless your consume more calories. Some people retain fluid but most do not. This is similar to the statistical chances of gaining weight on birth control pills. But in reality far more women gain weight, sometime huge amounts, mostly it'd mostly because they use medication as an excuse.

I also have trigeminal neuralgia. it started l

(along with Bell's palsy) less than 2 weeks after my VGS surgery. The pain is severe some days but I hardly notice it on others. I take neurotin.

  • I took 60 mg of prednisone for a month just 10 days after my VSG for bells palsy. It didn't effect my weight loss or cause any problems. It is important that you tell all your doctors you have a VSG.
  • As for reflux. Yes, you do need to call the surgon. Noting when you have an episode in your food journal to see if you can figure out which foods or what volume of food causes it it a good idea too. For the first three months abuse vegetable and coffee gave me reflux but it stopped.

I stomach was loud and rumbling for a while. Not drinking for 10-15 minutes before eating helped. It's already much quieter, I am about 5 months post op.

I order dinner boxes from "green chef" so that covers four dinners for two and since I only eat 1/3 of my meal I take the test to work for lunch and snack.

I got a few coupons for free trial meals in the last box. if anyone is interested, PM me.

They are organic, the site tells you home long the meals take to make most are less than half an hour. They have all sorts of menus and the recipe include the calories. Everything is in the box except regular cooking oil, salt and pepper.

1 thin slice Dave's Killer Bread, slice of cheese, slice of Turkey

Protein shake with 4 oz green (mixed veggies and fruit) juice.

shredded Brussel cranberries and a dash of horse radish 2oz, sprouts, one small fingerling potato 2 oz rosemary chicken.

Work was hell on earth today, normally a day like this would end with my old pals Ben & Jerry... but my treat tonight will be gummy mulit vitamins, but C and calcium. Yum!

Topic: RE: Lost in the woods: Skin issues, food intolerance, bloating, and the mystery therein

I have what immunologist and rheumatologists refer to as a "not well understood" autoimmune disorder and though I had significant joint pain for the most part my pain is caused by inflammation. With in weeks of my WLS my labs have been nearly normal for the first time in 20 years. Because I don't carry my weight in my abdomen I have a pre-op diet of any kind. The extreme change in my diet and the addition of supplements was the only change I made. I follow a Keto type diet (100 grams protein: 25 grams carbs: no fat restriction) with very limited dairy.

Since the improvement started before I lost very much weight I am convinced that sticking to a high protein diet and avoiding nightshades that I already knew increased my pain level. My skin is clear and I have been off narcotic pain meds and steroids since 11/15/16 for the first time since 2001.

I don't know if my experience will help you but thought I would share it anyway.

First I am going to post about what i didn't eat!

This morning I got a late start and also forgot my lunch so I stopped at Starbucks, I got an Americana and an egg sausage cheese English muffin. I planned to eat just 1/2 of the muffin so I fed the other half to my dog right away.

I ended up eating slow enough that I only finished 1/2 of the rest before I was full... I drank the coffee later.

We are having chicken and green beans for dinner... unless our "Green Chef" meals arrived today.

Speaking of chicken we are getting six baby chicks tomorrow! I'll post a picture on my wall.
