I don't have any plans for this weekend... we are going shopping for some clothes for my husband.... he is a school teacher.  My step daughter is moving this weekend... but since I just   had surgery... I can't help... which I think is a good thing.

I am feeling good...  walking around my block a couple of times a day.. but not really lost  any after my intial 9 pounds... I wonder since I am so tall... and I am not eating very much... that I will start to lose more when I can start eating mushy foods.  Starting yesterday... I started eating 3 protein shakes a day.. so my protein grams are up to 79... my range is 68 to 89.

Re: Walking... almost from day one... my cat will come on my walks with me... he just follows me.... sometimes getting ahead of me... its really pretty funny!

Hmmm... Trader Joes...  I think I may go down on Sunday... I need some more Greek Yogurt.

Quesion.... I will be moving to mushy foods on Weds... I will be at the doctors all afternoon... what did you try first... I will have access to a microwave....

I hope  everyone has a great weekend.

Helen

Tuna salad was my first mushy.  LOL didn't go well.  I would try a quiche or something.  Don't try it when you are out though.  Wait till you are home, you don't want to get a case of the foamies or somethin while you are out.  I always keep a plastic ziplick in my purse for puke emergencies too.

You are doing really well with you protein.  Brava!

Don't worry about the weight right now.  You body is in shock, wondering what the hell happened, and is holding on to every little thing for dear life. Not to mention the swelling that is still probably there.  It will come off.

Hmmm... you are probably right.... I should wait until I get home to try new foods.... I was thinking about  starting with ff refried beans and lf cheese.  Also, I have some bean and bacon soup.  I guess I am a little bored with full liquids!

I think both of those choices are great!  Be careful with the refried beans though, if they seem a litle thick you can always thin them out a little.  I loved bean and bacon soup!  Still do!

My first mushy was divine! I gently fried an egg, a couple of slices of turkey lunch meat and half a tomato. I peeled the tomato, added a small piece of cheese, and threw the whole lot into the magic bullet until it was total mush.

It made more than the half cup I am supposed to eat and I had to force myself to not eat it all, it was sooooooooo good. The first time I felt full in weeks!

I have since learned that even mushy stuff can get stuck and cause foamies, but only if I eat it too quickly  :-)

Hey there,
I am just hanging out this weekend too. I love a 3 day weekend and I plan to catch up on relaxing! Right now I'm in the pre-op stage and waiting for my surgical consult on 10/10. It couldn't get here any sooner, so I called to put myself on the cancellation list. I'm thankful that a surgery date may come before the end of the year, so next summer I can really strut my stuff LOL! This weekend just hanging out with girlfriends... went to the Melting Pot last night to enjoy some decadence and libations... I'm sure I won't be able to do that again for awhile once I hit the losers bench!
I'm not going to the Fair this fall. I did Spring Fair, and that's enough for me for a few years. I know it's not the same as the full on fair, but still not going.

So what are foamies? What causes them? I laughed at the ziplock in the purse thing... only because I've done something similar when I was using those Crest White Strips.... they get awfully slimy after about 20 min in so spitting in the bag was only solution. That got old about about a week, so I have 3 weeks of strips sitting in the bathroom.

Hmm what causes foamies... better to ask what doesn't.  LOL  Eating to fast, not chewing well enough, eating to much, grouchy pouch day...  You eventually get the hang of it (for the most part)but I still get stuck and the foamies 1-2 times a month, I never know what is gonna do it. What they basically are is your tummy gets irritated and you start producing a lot of saliva to wa**** through.  Only problem is you are ususally irritated cause something is stuck and the saliva has no place to go but up.  Then Urp away!

Ohh I love the Melting pot!!  Let me fanasize did you get the dessert?? All I ever got there was the cheese and the dessert.  *drool*

Next summer will be great for you, I had my surgery in Feb and I have done so much more this summer because I felt comfortable with myself.

Good luck getting that consult fast and if you have any questions you know where to go!

Well I'm recovering from my bug bites from camping, and I'm relaxing this weekend    the last day of camping   had awaken at 4 am to massive rain at my campsite and was threatening to make my tent float away with us in it! Nevertheless, we survived and  came home all weary, but had mass fun!   My first mushy was pureed salmon....  but when I tried salmon loaf (i ate too fast) ... got sick   blech!   but now   I love salmon loaf but gotta tell myself heyyyy slow down and use baby spoons!  (I waited 2 weeks before trying again but then realized it was " my eating too fast " in the first place).  I'm down (subtracting...) 21.5 lbs from 3 days before surgery,  but 34.9 lbs from last Jan

You are so brave to be camping this early out.  I didn't go at all this summer cause I am a chicken.
Glad to hear salmon is going down well for you.  I love, love, love it too!!

Mostly we are just hanging out this weekend. My youngest DH and her hubby got back Thursday from 10 days in Guatemala.  Listened to a bunch of their stories from their mission trip.  They just left a few minutes ago to head back home, to Portland.

We just got back from a quick trip to Ikea, didn't really find what I was looking for though.

We are thinking about spending Monday on Mt Rainier.  A little picnic and a little hike.  As long as the weather holds.

I also loved Mamma Mia.  It was a lot of fun.

I think I'll skip the fair this year.  Or maybe we'll go.  I just don't need all those tempting foods around.  I don't really like rides much.   I only like to shop at all the funky booths.

107 pounds!  That is wonderful.  It's been almost three months for me and I'm down 46.  I hope we'll see you next weekend.  But I know, life happens.
