swallowed gum

hijack!!  you have been scarse the past 2 days (or is it me?)

i was told not to chew gum either but it probably wouldn't hurt.  just preventative more than anything.  you know "better safe than sorry".   oh, and please don't be upset with annette.  she really was just joking and meant no harm.  i know you are very concerned for your friend and probably read her wrong.  take care.

THANK YOU, WE WERE ALSO TOLD NOT TO CHEW GUM.  THATS WHY SHE AND I ARE SO CONCERNED.  AND THE FUNNY THING IS ME AND HER WERE JUST SAYING HOW WE CAN CHEW GUM CAUSE WE HAVE NEVER SWALLOWED IT BEFORE.  AND A WEEK LATER SHE CALLS AND SAYS SHE SWALLOWED GUM.  LIKE I SAID I TOLD HER TO CALL THE DOCTOR.  I THINK SHE DON'T WANT TO IF SHE DON'T HAVE TO, JUST BECAUSE SHE WAS TOLD NOT TO CHEW GUM.  IT'S LIKE HAVING TO ADMIT YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG.

believe it or not this topic came up in my support group.  there are those who have given up so much they just can't bear to let the gum go.  now me??  i would swallow it sure as i am sitting here.  it's just my luck.  i do think she should call the doctor and just take what's coming.  it's probably nothing but she doesn't need to test it.

Annette I was thinking the same thing. I believe the last time I swallowed gum I was watching seasame street in my Holly Hobbie panties and were talking 1973-ish I also walk, talk and think while chewing gum and havent swallowed it yet.

Hi! Your a good friend!  Tell her to contact her doctor asap.  I was told that I can't chew gum ever again for that very reason  by my doctor, she said no soad either. She made it very clear that certain things could not be eaten because they cause problems that have to be corrected surgically.  Good luck! Deidre
