I dry mine out using a q-tip, could lose the thing in there. When it's been infected I did the alcohol and peroxide thing I would lay down and pour a little pool in it. But I think the q-tip when it's already infected just irritated it more and wouldn't let it heal. I went to my doctor and she gave me nystat powder so I use it everyday to keep it nice and dry....

I have thisproblem preop, in all my body folds. Under the belly, boobs and belly button.  My doc says it a yeast infection. He has years ago told me to put Vaginal yeast medication on it and it alway clears it up for me. Here's a laugh... other posters are talking about using the jock itch spray. My daddy was in his late 70 with a terrible case of JOCK ITCH  He was raw from it.  One day we were sitting in the living room. He got up from his recliner and made an announcement.  "I'm going into the bedroom now and lash my self to the bedpost and spray myself with the Jock Itch spray. So if you hear a blood curdling scream, don't come running in there. LOL

OH, I guess the reason was it burned like fire when he sprayed it on himself.

THANK YOU ALL, For all of your input... I Don't think i'll try the jock it spray....too hard to explain if someone would see it in my cabnet.... but I think i'll try the peroxide and powder for a while and see if it works.... Normally i would just go to the doctor, but I lost my insurance over a year ago and have been paying cash for all my visits to the surgeon and doctors.... so I only go when it's an emergancy..... this is something I can fix myself with advise from all of you. Thanks again, Penny p.s. out of curiousity I tried measuring my over lap.... how did you ever come up with 3 inches.... I couldn't even figure out how to measure..lol Oh, and I did have this belly button problem before my surgery too... but only a couple times a year if I was wearing tight pants, and it only took a day or two to clear up.... with loose fitting jeans and alcohol.

Keep it clean, and dry it out thoroughly!  Use a little cornstarch. It absorbs the moisture.

It matters not what road we take but rather what we become on the journey.

I have to date, lost 70 lbs on my own. Recently, I have noticed this same thing. So this morning, I put alcohol on a Q-tip and dried it out. Then I put Lotrimin on a the other end, and I feel so much better. I was in pain before. It only took a day, but I will continue for a few days to make sure it's gone. I also have 'jock itch', and no 'jock' . So embarrassing....not something I want to document with my doctor.
