tummy tuck ?

Hi again,,, I need help... I have been denied. They said I didn't have enough hang and I don't have proof that its medically necessary. I really need this done. My back hurts due to the hang. I even sent them a pic of a rash I had develop. Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks  Pam

Get several doctors to write letters. That always helps.

I saw 3 plastic surgeons before I was approved.    The first one submitted a letter twice, but it was very short & I don't think there was enough info.  The 2nd PS said I didn't qualify and wouldn't even TRY to get it approved. (These 2 consults cost me $300 out of pocket!)  At my 2yr post op check up with my surgeon, I mentioned it to him and he made a suggestion of another PS.  I called for an appt, and within 2 wks of seeing him, I was approved.  I say all of that to say this - it all depends on the doctor and how he words the letter.  If you choose a PS who does ALOT of gastric bypass patients, then he knows what to do.  (The others I saw had done very few WLS patients.) Just don't give up -that's what your insurer wants you to do.  Good luck! Lisa
