Some guy called me a stick
Last night I was at the grocery and was in the checkout line when some guy said "Darlin' what's a little stick like you doing with all that diet stuff?" I just gave him "that look" and didn't say anything. Well, today I was telling a coworker what happened and she said "What's wrong with that. You are a stick!" I don't know if I should be insulted or complimented. And, why do people feel they are entitled to comment on a stranger's eating habits? Would he have said a year ago "Lardass, what's a pig like you doing with all those cookies?" Just my rant.
This is a classic case of taking what was said with a grain of salt. Because you can bet your bottom dollar a year ago if you had those things in your cart he would have been thinking, "What does she have that for" and not too mention he might not have said that statement about the cookies but he definitely would have thought it or made some kind of facial expression letting you know exactly how he felt about it. You are looking great and fabulous and people say all kinds of things out of their mouths, just chalk it up, don't take it negatively, zoom in on the fact that he said "stick" which equates to skinny, smile and keep it moving.
