Retrocardiac hiatal hernia

Mmmmkay--- anyone else have one--- pre-op? How's this gonna change my life?

I hope this bumps your question back up for others to see.  Are you being treated with medication and have you asked your surgeon about it? Are you having difficulty swallowing with it?  I am interested in reading what others have to say about this and how they dealt with it.

Actually, I have had GERD with only intermittent symptoms (I can control it by not eating tomatoes or citrus near bedtime) but otherwise was completely unaware of it. It just shoed up in a CT scan I had looking for a completely different VENTRAL hernia.  I'm just trying to figure out what this means and how it might effect surgery/post-surical life. Thanks!
