Wow you just remind me when I went to Six Flags great adventure in NJ or Universal studios this pass summer in Orlando. Damn that really sucks !!! I remember in Orlando I coulnd't fit for this roller coaster and I was like oh god here we go again. It sucks big time !!! You want to hear something funny. Me and my uncle (Whos from Florida) we bet that for Spring of 2008 (When I go to Florida again) That if I fit on the roller coaster, he would pay for my ticket. But if I don't fit I would have to pay for his ticket. He doesn't know Im having gastric bypass very soon.....LOL

Three years ago my hubby and I went to Adventureland in Des Moines for a company picnic.  We were having the best time together riding rides and hanging out.  We waited forever in line for this one ride and when we finally got seated the operated said that some riders weren't properly restrained.  He came over to me and my hubby and us trying to contort ourselves into a variety of almost yoga-like positions trying to get us latched.  It was the kind that had the bars that come down over your head (reminds me of a bib).  Anyways, mine and his would not latch for anything.  I was probably about 230 lbs. at the time and my hubby is 6'1", about 250 lbs with broad shoulders.  We both ended up voluntarily getting off so the rest of the people wouldn't have to wait.  I was immediately depressed and both of us were no longer in the mood to ride rides.  So we left.  I can't wait til this summer when we can go and I can ride whatever I want and not have to worry about fitting into seats!

"Guests of Size" doesn't always mean fat.  If you ever came to a family function of mine you would find most of the men are about 6 ft. 5 in. and taller and over 230 lbs. and not fat.  They would have been "Guests of Size."  It isn't always about "fat" people.  Would you rather the park have these rules or go on an usafe ride and not "offend" anyone?

That is awesome! Congratulations.  I think it is a great idea for that park to put that warning and even offer tester seats.  I'd bet that prevents a lot of needless embarassment.  All parks should do that. But it's great that you didn't have to worry about it.

I've avoided amusement parks since I was too big to ride on a ride with my kids at Carowins a few years ago. Had to get off of it and that was horrifying. I'd not had any trouble with any of the other rides, but that one was just a no-go. I'm going to Cedar Point in a few weeks and I cannot wait to ride roller coasters and whatever else again.
