Heya! First, congrats on your weight loss and new commitment to fitness! I don't know if this will help, but I've been published in Jeff Galloway's Book on Women's Running...I wrote a section on giving running advice to women of "size" and have my story published in there. I didn't wear a girdle running until after PS...in fact, I would sometimes wear two. I've never tried spanx, but did hear great things! I forgot which brand I had used...but my word...it was tight, but I needed tight. You'll also need a SUPPORTIVE running bra...like enell bras. Expensive, but well worth it. Make sure to strengtrhen your core so you don't get back problems...

Thanks for the info. i will see if i can find the book at the library. As for the sports bras, the girls arent as much of a problem a the belly, but they are still there. I got some cheaper sports bras at wal mart which worked nicely for my workouts but i have shrunk and they arent a tight anymore and its time to find new ones.  I really hate to spend the money on the good, expensive stuff only to shrink out of it in 2 months.   I guess I need to do some research on beginner running and make sure I protect my back and knees. I'm sure that my knees aren't 100% after carrying around that weight for so many years.

You need to get yourself to a running store to get a gait and foot analysis for a proper pair of running shoes. You'll either be neutral, underpronate(supinate) or over pronate. Depending on your analysis will determine what shoes you will get. Shoes off the shelf from dicks or khols aren't going to do it. Dicks does carry some quality shoes BUT they will do you no good if you don't know your foot type. Shoes will help PREVENT injury! You need to wear tight tight undergarments(bra). Buy one good one at a time instead of multiples. That will help save a little money. I just spent 60 on an enell bra. So far it's the best thing I've bought for bras! It's for girls with big hooters. COTTON IS ROTTEN! Don't wear cotton! Even socks. ESPECIALLY SOCKS! I don't wear underwear either under my shorts...I wear compression shorts...

When you had your surgery, were you sent home with a binder?  wear that for a while (though maybe not as tight as you were sent home with****il you're at a point where you don't mind spending for a better support system. Good luck.
