Lymphedema...a post-op pictorial

Earlier today a member posted asking if Lymphedema improved after WLS. In replying I collected together some pics of my legs since my WLS. It was the first time I put them all together with my most recent pictures taken last week for my PS 1 year anniversary. I thought is was worth reposting to share. Wow Sarah what a difference, it seems like a totally different person then you first picture.  I hope you continue to get better. Keep up the good work sweetie.  Hope you aren't missing Hen Jr too much.  lol Hugs Heidi

Mine look more like chicken wings with lots of extra stretchy skin.  Ugghhhhh.  Its always fun to bend over and watch your entire body go with you, what fun things can we do with our extra skin this week.  lol Hugs Heidi

What a remarkable change . I wish they could come up with a cure . I'm sure even though they are much better , it's still a big concern . If you didn't keep at it you wouldn't be doing so well . It is great for sufferers of Lymphadema to see your success . xoxox Kathy

The treatment is not comfortable, being compression wrapped from ankle to groin with padding underneath...hard to walk, the wraps shift, sometimes they would cause extreme pain at my ankles because they shifted down and had too much compression at the bottom...I would have to fight the tape to get them off fast...ugh then the rolling of the wraps in prep for the next appt. Did all that for 2 years straight...while trying to get the garments. But in the end, WORTH every minute of it!!!
