My aunt had Roux-en-y 7 years ago and lost over 100 lbs. 7 months after her surgery, my uncle was killed in a motorcycle accident and, naturally, depression set in deep.  She has since gained all her lost weight back plus some.  She has serious cardiac, orthopedic, depression, and diabetic issues. I know I have seen facilities like this for people over 500 lbs, but shes been told she will die if she doesnt lose weight now. Does anyone have any information on facilities like this? Thank you, Jess

Jess,  My heart goes out to your aunt. I use to work in a personal care home and we did have a MO man, he was only 34 years old and was over 500 pounds, His doctor placed him with us to help get off some of his weight, I would think that you would have to contact her doctor and speak to him or her. She would need a special bed ect. I hope everything works out for her.  Hugs to you  Kristin HW/420 CW 205

Hi, On TV they have a series (forgot what channel) about Brookhaven Obesity Clinic in New York State. I actually had a friend who lived there for a couple years.  Good luck! Barbara

The other one is Andover, which east of Cleveland, Ohio. I am sure there are more out there as there is a much greater need now. Hope your aunt finds the help she needs. Margo - Do you know anything about this nursing home? The name, whether or not they accept medicaid, can they handle high risk or those who are already quite sick? My friend told me tonight that her son is on the hospital. Right now he is in congestive heart failure, renal failure, pneumonia, and MRSA. He also has a trach and he completely sedated right now so it is not even awake. We are not even sure he will make it, but if he does he is going to need to be in a nursing home for a while. If you have any other info could you please pass it along? Thanks so much. ~ Terisa
