My cravings have been in spurts...cottage cheese then peanut butter on whole wheat toast, then 1 slice cheese omlets, then mixed nuts, now it's soy trail mix!!   Since surgery I can't do red meat or yogurt.  I used to LOVE yogurt.  Every morning for my mid-morning snack I would have yogurt with bran cereal.  Now it makes me gag  Can't do pasta either which is really hard being an Italian I love that more than yogurt.

I eat plain Cheerios with skim milk for breakfast 5 days a week. And sometimes I eat them for a snack before bed. I eat the plain Cheerios brand because the other brands and flavors have to much sugar in them and I dump very easily. The Cheerios with yogurt sounds great. I've tried yogurt with Grape Nuts cereal and that was good. Can't wait to try it with Cherrios now. I eat a lot more veggies now than I did pre op. Lots of different kinds that I wouldn't touch before. I still don't like mushrooms and tomatos tho, that hasn't changed. ~dori~

Leticia, here is a really yummy snack mix using cheerios.  A friend gave this to me and I make it all the time.  We all love it!

Jessie’s Crispex Mix

1 box crispex 1 box cheerios (plain) 1 bag square pretzels 2 lbs nut s (1 mixed, 1 peanuts) Shake the following together in large zip lock: 1 ½ cups vegetable/canola oil 2 tbls Worcestershire sauce 1 tbls garlic salt 1 tbls Lawry’s Seasoned Salt 1 squirt lemon or lime juice

Mix everything above together well (use 2 large turkey baking pans).  Bake in 200 degree oven for 2 hours (stir every 15 min).  Mixture is done when cheerios start to brown.  Remove and let cool. Store in zip lock bags. Makes 20-25 cups pr 4-5 gallon bags) Happy snacking!
