I also want to know more about weight loss surgery through Tri care !

I have my Tri care prime through the military !

I'm also Afraid to ask about it In case they deny me or just tell me to loose some weight !

If  other women have gotten it can you explain how ? And if you've gotten it for cosmetic reasons because you're over weight and are having self esteem issues possibly ?

Hi! I realize this is 5 years old so I hope you'll see it. I wanted to see if you ever had a tummy tuck and if so how it went? I met with a surgeon yesterday. He said due to my scar from open Nephrectomy he couldn't be aggressive on that side of my belly. Now I'm afraid I'll look lopsided. Anyway, I'd love to hear from you and find out more :)

I am new to the site so this answer maybe to late for you. But In the year 2000 I had a high white blood cell count. Which means I could have had cancer. I went for a mammogram and they found a total of 7 lumps between both breasts, As breast cancer runs in my family we made the decision at that time to have a double mastectomy. I have Tri-Care West and we contacted them to see about reconstruction. The answer I got was on some situations we pay for plastic surgery I went forth and had the full mastectomy and reconstruction done with out an approval letter as I am on standard and Tri-Care West covered all but $1000.00 for co-payment. The time of that surgery I have my mastectomy, hysterectomy and reconstruction done all at the same time.

I am now looking to have a tummy tuck and lipo suction done as I as of two years ago had my last ovary taken(Dr.'s thought cancer but came back Benign) and my hormones are not producing anymore, over the past two years I have gained 45 pounds all in my mid section. I finally have talked my Dr into hormone therapy and am going to a plastic surgeon for reconstruction of my mid section as I will not lose the fat in the mid section area.

Sometimes asking for forgiveness is better than asking for permission.

Hi, I'm new to this site.  I'm so happy to have found it.  I have Tricare Standard and am hoping to have a Tummy Tuck.  I am about 75 lbs overweight, but I am starting a diet and work out routine soon.  In the past when I lost weight, my body looked absolutely horrible the thinner I got.  This is due to the large amount of loose skin that hung over in the stomach area.  I've had many many abdominal surgeries (3 laparoscopies, C-Section, Open Hysterectomy, separate Open Oopherectomy and Open Kidney Donation).  So, I have a lot of damage and scars.  It does cause me pain, but lately I'm getting infections under the loose skin.  I haven't seen a doctor about it yet b/c it's embarrassing, but I guess I'll start going.  Does anyone have any recent experience getting Tricare to pay for a tummy tuck?  Any advice?
Thank you!
