Help!!! Does Home depot cover wls???
Home Depot covered my WLS, but my husband's insurance with them is from United Health Care, not Aetna. I called to ask if WLS was an included benefit. They said yes, and I was having surgery within 6 weeks.
I truly don't know if insurance coverage differs from one store to another, but I wouldn't think so. I don't think Aetna, or any insurance company would answer that question if you're not a member.
I have heard Aetna is HARD to get them to pay for WLS... I was at a seminar in memphis and this young lady had Aetna.....she was telling us that they made her jump through alot of hoops just to even be considered for the surgery. You might want to check their policy and see.......... You might have to provide six months to a year of medical documentation to them proving that you have made weight loss attempts............... Keep copies of everything!!! The next hurdle will be finding a surgeon that will accept the insurance.... I sure do wish you the best!
Work like you don't need the money......

I had my surgery through Aetna and you have to jump through hoops of fire but BOY was it worth it. Because I documented everything per their standards (i printed out was required, went down the it like a check list, kept copies of every test result so when the surgeons office said it was missing something i had it) and I was approved in 48 hours. ANDI
I also have Aetna. Fortunately I knew about the 6 months prior to making my final decision about WLS so I started seeing my PCP before I even made my final decision. They have certain things they require but if you provide them you will be approved. I was approved within 10 days on the first try. If you go to their website you can find the requirements for WLS.
My best friend had the surgey and had Aetna so she had told me about the 6 months. It really did not do me much good because I ended up having the surgery about a year later due to various reasons. I was really glad for the wait though because it did allow me to become better informed and due to that I think I will be more successful than if I had the surgery when I first wanted it.
