Can you keep acrylic nails on while having your surgery?

****** each Dr or hospital has different criteria. I was told I could keep my acrylics on as long as they could see through them. I had a new set put on and left them unpolished. Had a pedicure and had no polish on..... Check with your Dr/hospital. No sense spending the $$$ if they have to come off. good luck to you. Millie

Each physician is different. I would think if you didn't have your toes painted you they could use those nails as well.  Check with your doc.

I had my nails on... toes were painted... Heck, I even had on my lipstick. LOL

But, just incase... save ya money...

I just called and canceled the appointment.  I guess I'll have this to look forward to afterwards.  About how soon after an open RNY would you be able to sit and have it done?

I had two surgeries and had my nails on with both and had my toes painted too.  I would ask your doctor or the hospital to be sure though. Joyce

I had mine on - pink and whites. No problems. I also had painted toes.

I had the nails put on...after surgery.  Well when my hair started going my nails started to get thin and now I am having a hard time correcting them.  it was like a fungus but it isn't really.  It just was getting thin....

me again.  If it was me, I wouldn't get them put on until further down the road.  have a manicure but I would not do the other

I had fake nails on...before and after... no one even mentioned it... some nurses even asked if I got them done for the surgery.. lol....  I waited 2 weeks before getting a fill.. just make sure you you bring a drink with you.
