Most embarrassing fat moment?

I belong to an awsome community on youtube and this topic was a hot topic there so I thought it might be popular here as well... what was your most embarrassing  fat momment. Mine was going to the fair ... I was going to ride some rides so I bought an arm band for the evening.  Didn't realize I was that fat... but anyway they made me move to the outside because and they did say I was so fat I would squish the girl beside me... and then they had to ream the bar on me... and in doing so pinched my fat in the clamp... needless to say I left the fair in tears. I will go back once i have my surgery and loose the weight ... I look forward to it.

I guess it was the first time I had to ask for a seat belt extender on an airplane.  That was awful.  After that my sweet husband would discreetly ask for me.  UGG!  Never again.  I'm on the loser's bench now

Mine was the time I went to Geauga Lake, and not fitting through the turn style. I made it, but had to go sideways, and on tippy toes. The kids behind me of course made rude comments. I was just a teenager then.

Good morning, Trudy.   Good subject....  :)    Mine have been mostly feeling humiliated when returning to 'reunion' type events that I could NOT get out of....   like being in friends weddings.   I seem to have been the 'brides maid" so many times...  and all of the other girls were always so cute and thin.    We all wore the same dress, so it was horrifying.    I have since learned I could have said no...  but  being the "people pleaser" that I am....  uggh.    Now I look back at some of the photos and all of the girls were not that "thin" and I didnt look as bad as I thought.   And I still dont like the way i look in a bridesmaid dress..hahaha   I have also had the airline nighmare when you were sitting there and on the person next to you... they make those seats so small!     hugs, Jill

I had the seat extender on an airplane embarrassment also and the bridesmaid dresses not working for me.  But mine was when I was on a ski trip about 20+ years ago - I was skiing down the mountain (and I was a pretty decent skiier at that time) and some guys "Moo'ed" me like I was a cow.  I was with my husband and 2 friends at the time and others were around.  I was so embarrassed - I've never been skiing since.  The funny thing is that I weighed then about what I weigh now and I'm happy now - it's just maturity that allows us to look back at some things and realize we were fools for taking these useless people seriously.  I'm really trying to teach my boy that he can't take the "pickers" seriously in life.  There is always going to be someone that will pick on him (at least until he gets his karate black belt in a few years!) - but that he needs to give them a look like "oh sure - I'm going to take YOU seriously and worry about YOUR opinion of me because......why???"  or generally "Talk to the Hand" attitude!  Yes it can hurt under the service - but never let them bring you down.  I hope he can get it soon but he's only 10.

Before my surgery, while I was still at my highest weight I had to go the ER for a severe attack of IBS.  Anyway, when they took me for tests they had a hard time finding a wheelchair wide enough...OMG!  So here I was in a hospital gown with my butt poking out being stuffed in one chair and then another.....ugghhh!!  To top it off, the guy who came to take me for the tests and had to try to find a bigger wheelchair was a guy I went to high school with (when I was thin!)  I was sooo embarassed, I didn't know whether to cry or just fall over and die!!!   Thank God and Dr. Hannon for my GBS! Now I can fit into any chair, anywhere!! :)

MY MOST EMBARASING FAT MOMENT WAS LAST YEAR I TOOK MY DAUGHTER TO BLIZZARD BEACH AT DISNEY, AND I DECIDED TO GET IN THE WAVE POOL WITH HER AND I WAS TRYING TO GET ON THE TUBE AND FLOAT AROUND IN THE WATER, SO I WENT TO THE SHALLOW PART OF THE WATER AND SAT ON TOP OF THE TUBE AND THE WAVES KEPT COMING UP AND PUSHING ME FURTHER INTO THE SHALLOW WATER I  SOON WAS STUCK ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL. PEOPLE WERE LOOKING AT ME LIKE A BEACH WHALE!!!! I WAS REALLY EMBARRESED. I THEN WENT INTO THE WATER AND PUT THE TUBE OVER MY HEAD AND THEN IT GOT STUCK ON MY FAT STOMACH. I HAD TO GO OUT FURTHER TO SLIP UNDER IT TO GET OUT!!!!! TALK ABOUT EMBARESSED!!!! I SAID I WAS GOING TO GO BACK IN A COUPLE YEARS WHEN I FEEL BETTER IN A BATHING SUIT.

I have two that come to mind: I was at my grandmother's birthday party and they were serving coconut cake; which I do not like so I declined a piece.  My aunt said, "If you did that more often you wouldn't be so big".  I haven't liked her since. The other is I was sitting on the beach with my two teenage children when suddenly my chair collasped.  I was sprawled out and being MO could not get up.  Initially my kids were mortified too, and as teen are (selfish) kept saying "I don't know you".  (The brats!)  The both did help me up though and we left shortly after. I'm sure there are many more, but those two I will never forget.

There have been so many equally embarrassing ones: The time my son wanted me to sit next to him on the bus and it was a sliver of a seat and he said too loud "Don't be scared! You won't squish anyone!" The time the flight attendant refused to hear that I needed an extender. The famous having a bar pushed down on my stomach to get in a ride. Having to be pried out of a ride in disney world.  Broken chairs, toilet seats. Going up the stairs in front of a new boyfriend one stair at a time because my knee couldn't take the weight. Sooooooooooooooooo many! Too many. Here's a funny related LINK: Stop Me Before I Kill Again!

Oh my gosh, I have tears in my eyes reading what you all have been through. I have been very cautious about being out and how my weight effects things, so I've kinda avoided those moments, except the airline one. I really didn't expect to be too big for that seatbelt! The worst thing I've had to deal with, that pales in comparrison to what you all have gone through, is I was anorexic before (5'6" and 69 pounds) and some people hadn't seen me since then (mostly family) and then they saw me at 250 pounds. The shock they obviously felt was hard for me to deal with. I could tell when we were talking that they were thinking about it and too distracted to even hold a conversation. I tell ya, I will NEVER find myself being mean to someone obese...ever! I will be the one offering them help, or conversation, or just plain ol' kindness. After hearing what you all have been through I'm literally sitting here with tears in my eyes. I am SO SORRY the world is like this and it has hurt you.  I'm sending you all cyber hugs! Rita
