If it where me I would have to cook it.  Put in the microwave or something.  I dont think I could eat it cold.  Other than that....I have no idea.

that awful looking white stuff is fat--wipe it off with a paper towel--micro the rest--when it is hot put it on 5 or 6 layers of paper towels on a plate and then dump the corn beef on top of towels.  Then put 2 towels on top and press--get more of the nasty fat--scrape the rest into a bowl and enjoy.

Here's a recipe we like.  You can halve it for one can.  It's really tasty and refrigerates good. I then reheat in microwave.

Corned Beef Hash Casserole

1 medium green pepper, chopped fine

1 medium onion, chopped fine

2 tbls butter

1 cups sour cream

1 tsp dry mustard

dash cayenne

1/8 tsp black pepper

2 cans corned beef hash

salt

4 hardboiled eggs

parsley

In a small skillet, cook green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Add sour cream, mustard, cayenne and black pepper. Mix well and heat through then remove from heat.

Empty hash into a large bowl, add sour cream mixture and mix well. Add salt if needed. Transfer to casserole dish. Bake at 400 for 20 min. Arrange egg slices on top and garnish with parsley.

also, again with the frying, but maybe if you use PAM?   Put it in a skillet, crumble it up with a fork and fry it with some diced up potatoes, add some peas, cook it until the corned beef and potatoes are a little crispy.  Top with a drizzle of ketchup and eat up (this is how my mom made it so it's one of my "comfort foods") probably not WLS friendly for most people with the potatoes and peas mixed in (carbs) but I can only eat about 1/4 cup of it anyway.

I use to eat the canned corned beef and hash all of the time pre-op. I bought a can of it about 3 weeks post op, took one bite and was throughly disgusted. I threw the rest of the can out and have not thought about it since. I use to be an addict to that stuff too!

I mostly ate refried beans. I put a little bit of cheese on them and maybe a bit of salsa. It got old after a while, but it didn't make me want to gag like the corned beef hash.

Mmmmmmm, corned beef hash!

Man, I haven't had that in ages, but it's so good!

I heat in a pan, drain greasies and eat with eggs or whatever.
