Did your acid reflux get worse during the liquid diet?

I am on day three of the Optifast liquid diet and my acid reflux seems to be alot worse than normal.  Maybe because there is nothing to soak up the acid in my stomach ???  I was just wondering if anyone else ever experienced this.  I sure hope it doesn't continue like this for another 11 days.  Btw...I'm on Protonix for GERD.

I am on day seven of the Optifast liquid diet I am getting what I think are gas pains in both sides. Never had anything like this before and I have never had any problems with GERD.  I have clinic and class today I plan on aksing the Dr.  I have 20 monre days on the Optifast. Hi, I have been on Optifast for over 6 weeks.  I was having some problems with it gas and upper stomach pains.  I called my Dr office and they told me that some people who did not have lactose problems before tend to have some when their diet is mostley milk based product. With that I take a chewable/ rapid melt Lactaid.  This has helped me when I have that not too comfortable feeling. Call your Dr. Best of luck!
