Addicted to "Sonic" Ice
Could be pica -- anemia which makes you crave ice.
I, too, was an ice chomper -- for decades. I've always been prone to anemia, surgery or not, and I worshipped that "pebble" type ice (still do). I always have store-bought ice in my freezer but have actually considered an ice maker that creates the pebbled ice for my ever-present Crystal Lite iced tea with lemon.
The problem with chewing ice is that you can break teeth, and I was a prize ice-chomping molar-shattering fool. Between that and all the enamel damage I have due to barfing (complications from first surgery, fixed now after revision), I have very pretty, natural-looking, amazingly expensive repairs. The molars are almost all crowned from the chomping. That and hard candy -- I was a serious addict.
Have you had your iron levels checked lately? You probably should do so if you haven't. That ice craving is one sign.
But I indeed understand the ice cravings, anemia or not.

Is it just me or is anyone else addicted to ice? I would rather eat Soni**** or shaved ice instead of eating sometimes...sometimes. I was just wondering. Please send a reply. I would love to know.Michelle
Thats what my nut said.
And PCP.
And when I was tested I craved ice and was anemic.
Okay, I'm not a pica person, and I don't think there is a Sonic near me (but I see the commercials all the time--sooo not fair!) but I can't go to a 7-11 store without getting at least 1 of 3 things: Crystal Light ICEE or XL Coffee or a lottery ticket. I was so excited in the summer when I found the Crystal Light ICEE. It was like they were thinking about us folks who can't drink sweets!
Soni**** is the best !! Yumm !! I have an ice shaver here at home & use it often with my Crystal light . I have always liked ice for some strange reason . I'm pretty sure my iron is ok too because my labs always coming back in the normal range .I have always found ice to be a guilt free pleasure .

of cherries , it's more like a jar of Jalapenos--what you do today, might come back to burn you tomorrow......'
