Very angry With Surgeons staff

I was scheduled for surgery for tuesday. I went all the way to their office for my preop labs and preop dr exam. I had to wait over an hr for the dr. I was there also 30 min early. I saw the dr and had my labs and everything was great he said I will see you tuesday.

I get home after running errands after 5pm there is a message on my machine saying they have to pospone my surgery there is a ins problem. Why could they not say something while I was there. Medicare is my primary and my DH is my secondary.  Since it was after 5 pm I could not call them back. I have to wait till Monday the day before my surgery. I have been on the preop diet for 2 weeks like I was susposed to.

My DH has to ask way in advance for the time off, and it comes out of his vacation time. So now he will use these days for nothing.

I am just so upset I am beside myself. I do not know what to do.

OMG that sucks royally! But give a quick call to your insurance company to see if you can find out what the problem is, they are often open later than 5.  Good luck!

Bless your heart. Chances are, the doctor's office was called by the insurance company between the time you were there and got home.
I know you're a believer, so I'm going to talk to you as one. Okay? Sue, this is a faith opportunity. You know that even when things seem to go wrong, we can turn to the Father and ask Him to work them out. If we can lay it at His feet, He can take it up and do what He does best--make the impossible happen. But, hon, if you don't lay it down, but hang on to it, His Hands are tied.

What a fantastic reply fromis a reason this happened, a lesson for you. Rejoice that you have come this far, you have been on your diet, lost weight, and you are ready in every way possible. Stay ready and know that it will be the best for you in the end.  Pray, have faith, and know that God has you in His hands.

Could it be possible the doctor's office made a mistake and you are NOT having an insurance problem? They have lots of patients and lots of insurance companies to deal with. Maybe they had you on their mind when the info from some insurance company came in and  they automatically equated the news with you. Hey...it could happen! People make mistakes and MANY times do.
I know you're angry, hurt, upset and depressed about it, but I wouldn't go off that pre-op diet just yet. Imagine going on a burger and fries, cookies and ice cream  binge over the weekend thinking you don't have surgery Tuesday only to find out Monday that all systems are GO for early Tuesday morning. Then you have a whole new set of problems to deal with.
And even if there IS a problem with the insurance company it might be resolved with one phone call or one fax and you might still be having surgery next week.
I loved the reply about putting the problem at God's feet. That was excellent and so true. If you hold onto it He can't do anything with it.
There are only two days til Monday. Stay positive and stay on your pre-op diet. You'll be the better for it. Worst case scenario is that you might lose a pound or two waiting to find out what happened.

Thank you Sharon. I did want to go and eat what I wanted to but I decided just in case I am still going to stay on the preop. That way if I still do get to have it tuesday I am ready.

I have put this in Gods hands. What he says goes. If I am to wait then so be it. I do know that eventually it will happen.

I know this is so frustrating Sue, keep your eyes on the goal and know that God is in control at all times.  Sometimes the Ins company just needs a little more info. and it's nothing seriouse.  Before you make this your focus for the weekend find things to do that will occupy your mind and time until Monday morning, because truly there is nothing that can be done until you contact them for more info.

My favorite saying is "Let go and let God" it really keeps me focused to remember and remind myself who's really in charge.
