Linda,
I was looking at your day of eating----wow! How much protein are you getting? I feel like a pig compared to what you are eating. I am 3 1/2 months post op RNY, and I seriously eat a significantly larger amount than you do. I have never veered off of the food lists, nor have I "cheated" in any way, but I certainly have never had supper be "skim milk". I have lost 53 pounds since surgery (July 8, 2008), for which I'm thrilled. However, I must ask you----do you eat these small amounts because if you eat more, you gain??? When was your surgery, if you dont mind me asking. I guess I'm looking to my future and wondering.................
Thanks much!

I had surgery in July of 2007. I completely stopped losing at six months out -- January of 2008. Trust me, I can usually eat lots more than I did today, but for some reason, I haven't felt much like eating lately. I've been having more protein shakes, etc., because I'm not feeling like eating. My doc said he expected me to lose another 20-30 pounds this year -- I lost 80 in the six months. Maybe that will start happening now. Oh - let's see - I had about 60 grams of protein today. I usually try for more like 100, but I just didn't get there today.
Linda
EDITED -- PS: I forgot to say that I have 3 severely blown discs in my back and will be having surgery next month. Till after that, I can't really exercise, so yes, if I eat much more than this I WILL gain weight. I've had to be pretty careful to keep my weight steady over the last several months.

Hi Charlie! Glad you're having such a great time. Shopping and eating, what could be better?
Anyway...
B: Hot Click
L: Chicken salad, cheese, and a little mayo on one slice of white toast
S: A few light Pringles, a few candy corns
D: About one cup of homemade chili, 6 thin Cabaret crackers
S: Mini-bag of Kettle Korn popcorn
Got a nice mountain bike ride in today. Getting cooler here, but still had sunshine and it was a beautiful day.
I haven't been really keeping track of calories or protein, just trying to eat what I'm supposed to and eat protein first. I went to the Daily Plate and plugged in what I ate today...I was pleasantly surprised. Between 700-800 calories and nearly 60 grams of protein. A little high in carbohydrates due to the chili and the slice of bread, but chili beans are a great source of protein so I guess those are "good" carbs. That web site is a great place to stay accountable.
Have a great week!
Jenny

Hey Sweets....nah, not for good. I go home for 5 days, fly to LA, wow them with my Halloween costume, fly back to Chicago for another 3 week stint (I think) then its home for good. I have a feeling they are going to ask me to work through the holiday season.....AT&T and the Union's contract up here will end in April....if they strike.....it will shut down the project.....but I do NOT want to do it. And probably won't. I just hate to turn down the money.
I pretty much had that same eating pattern yesterday....only thing stopping me from getting 2 HUGE chocolate covered strawberries instead of one, was the price....$7.50. Holy crap. For 2 friggin strawberries with 8 cents worth of chocolate.
See ya......
Hugs
