I was wondering if you can eat egg drop soup on the puree diet? If you only eat the serving its not too bad on fat and has protein.

when i was approved for it, i cant remember what stage, i bought a whole quart of it, and i planned on eating like a half a cup a day... well i took one sip of it and threw it right up.  thats just my experiance, but i think it was too thick, or fatty.  i haven't had egg drop soup since

I was told I could have it on the liquid post op diet. But was always afraid of it because of the oil in it. Still haven't had it..lol

I had no problems with that soup at all.  I could only eat a small amt. though, but it's good protein.

that should be fine on a puree diet...you could also make your own with a quart of the broth from wonton soup...bring it to a simmer and slowly pour in a beaten egg and keep on stirring it, this way you know that it doesn't have the additional oil it in! Soup has never made me ill so keep trying stuff until you hit on something you can enjoy during this phase! ANDI

So loved the egg drop soup. I actually started eating it during my "full liquid" stage. Yum!!

I also had egg drop during my full liquid stage.  I am SURE your going to be fine for your puree stage.  It was such a nice change to the basic stuff i was eating day in and day out.  I was so sick of it all.  I just started back on regualar food this week.  I have had a few puking episodes but i am learning very quickly what i can and can not have.  Keep trying stuff!

I am on pureed until 12/18, and I've been eating a lot of egg drop soup. Love it!!! I don't have problems with any food, unfortunately. Wish my stomach was just a little more sensitive.

Funny how everyone is alike but everyone is so different .   I was about 3 days post op when I had my first "real" food and it was Egg Drop Soup.   My husband brought me a Quart of it.   I thought I would only eat 1/2 cup of it but ended up eating almost all of it.   No problems afterwards....I think I was just really hungry but wasn't getting the usual hunger pangs then.    I ate it slowly though!
