So, i'm currently in the midst of a 2 week stall. At least it's been two weeks to this point. Who knows how much longer it'll persist. It's so aggravating. I eat right and work out DAILY and i mean really work out. We're all taking an hour on an elliptical and 450 calories burned working out..along with strength training.

I know it'll eventually end, but i really need some words of encouragment as this stall has me pretty down. I know i should buck up, easier said than done. ANyone have any suggestions for jump starting weight loss again....

Thanks for reading everyone!
Katie

Sweetie, go back and do a food journal. Its a pain but compare the foods from week to week. We all get stalls so you are not alone. One day the scale doesn't move so you want to kill it and then a couple of days later it moves and you want to kiss it. All in good time. I went back on protein shakes at least once a day and increased my water and that helped.

I agree. No-one's perfect, so don't be too hard on yourself.
Getting here and asking for help is already a sign you're on the way back.
As Linda suggested, keep a food journal, or even a diary.
And I recommend weighing yourself daily and recording the results.
These kinds of things will bring your focus back onto losing weight and make it easier to maintain good habits.
You've done it well for so long, there's no reason why you can't do it again.
You'll be fine! Don't give up on yourself or the process!

ohhh my goodness Katie you have done a fabulous job !! 99lbs in 3 months !!! That would be a dream come true for me. ( 12/08/08) I have only lost 40 lbs.  Don't worry your body is just getting adjusted  you will start loosing again soon. I would put money on it as long as you keep up what you've been doing.  Congrats on your great job !!

THanks for the kind words -- i've actually lost 70 since my surgery. 29 prior to surgery :)

It'll pick up again -- but it's the stalls that i think aggravate us all, you know?

Stalls are frustrating at the time, but perfectly normal.  I would stall for weeks, then lose five pounds in a day.  I did not worry about it, because I believed the weight would come off as long as I followed the program.

I stayed  with my program and now can't even remember what I weighed at different times.  I know at six months I still had 10 pounds to go and it took another six months to lose that.  Now I am working on getting off another 10 or 15 pounds before my two year anniversary on Oct 15.

That is because of the two year rebound effect and I do not want to get caught in that and not have some weight loss in reserve.  The surgery works as long as you stick with your program.  Don't let that scale discourage you.

I was stalled too and someone told me to eat more protein and drink more than the 64 oz of water and believe it or not it worked.  You eat the protein and leave out white stuff and low and behold it works ...I hope it works for you.  Love Patty B  PS I lost 3 pds ..

Hey Doll, I am in the same boat, I work out daily, really hard and eat nothing but the right stuff and havnt lost a pound in 3 wks. You got 99 pounds down in 3 months, and I have only been able to lose 40 in like 3 months so the stalls are bound to happen, we will all get there, keep your head up!!! Drink lots of water and just keep on working it out!!

Good Luck!
