My Dr as well as someone else on this site recommended Fergon so I have ordered some, but haven't started taking it yet. Then I saw someone mention Feosol on here. I have severe anemia, which one is better?

I prefer Vitalady's Tender Iron. Dissolves fast, easier on my stomach than Feosol or SlowFe, doesn't constipate me, and my iron levels seem to be doing well with it.

I'm not familiar with either of these "brand names", but my surgeon told me just to be certain I was taking ferrous fumeerate rather than ferrous sulfate, the more commonly available form. I get mine from the Kroger pharmacy, made by Mission Pharmaceudicals. I get three bottles of 100 for about ten dollars.

Don't bother with the slow release stuff.  (boo kitty)
Ferrous Fumerate is mild (constipation/upset stomach) and I take it on an empty stomach (no caffeine, calcium beforehand either) and with some Vit C for max absorption.

I take Vitron-C and I cru**** to make sure it hits the guts right away for max absorption. No need for time for it to break down.

Seems like no Dr has the same view on what type of iron to take because mine told me to make sure it was ferrous gluconate and not any other kind, hmm.
