Medicaid and Tummy Tuck
I'm sure it is different from state to state but here medicaid wont pay for cosmetic procedure unless it is reconstructive, like after an accident. Mine will pay for a panniculectomy which isn't the same as a tummy tuck. It isn't a cosmetic procedure. My weight loss surgeon also does panniculectomies and told me he would help me when I get to that stage. It may be different where you are. All you can do is call your local office and ask.

Thanks Sunshine for your reply! I am soooo anxious and just hope that I can find a surgeon that participates in Medicaid. I did some research and today was my appointment at my primary physician's office. He is so supportive and he told me that I definitely meet all the requirements of insurance approval. But I'm still not getting happy until I get an approval in my hand!
But I saw under Medicaid that as long as you have had: Skin rashes that did not respond over 6 months, stable weight, your panni must interfere with activities of daily living (proven by doctor's notes of complaints for a specified period) and a few other things that I don't remember off hand. But I'm desperately in search of a PS that accepts Medicaid. Again, thank you so much for your response.
