i am feeling so great about my self, the weight loss feels wonderfull. i did however catch a glimpse of myself today while passing a window. all looked great untill i noticed the lil bulge my lower tummy makes. im still a lil ways from goal so im used to my stomach sticking out but the part that bother me is my pani (the apron of skin/fat that hangs down over my undies) way too soon for plastics and im a stay at home mom so i dont want to buy some expensive body shaper only to shrink out of it. i figure once im closer to goal i will buy a good body shaper then eventually get some plastic surgery. untill then how can i hide it? how do you hide yours? i dont like super long shirts since im 5'2" they make me look even shorter and heavier. so please ladies share your secrets!

Spanx. Except I mostly get the cheap Target version - Assets by Sara Blakley. They aren't that expensive and they last a long time. I have some that are two sizes too big and they still hold everything in.

Roll it up - stuff it in - and go.

Seriously - there really isn't any way to do it other than big long sucky undies - at least they help make us more aero-dynamic.

Get a shaper that fits you now....for it will still fit you as you get smaller.   I still have a size 2x shaper that I wear and I'm a size 8.  It's extremely comfortable, smoothes out he edges without overbinding me.

Cover it up.  Don't let it hang over your panties.  If you don't want to wear a shaper get a couple of layers of fabric between your tummy and the world.  I am at goal and have had plastic surgery, but a slip or the right panties still makes all the difference in the  world in smoothing things out here and there.  It even makes a difference how high I pull up my half slips on my waist band sometimes.  Try on many styles of shirts to find just the right length and volume.  I am short too.  Fit is important.  Look through my profile for some of the choices I made as I lost.  Good luck, Loris

hahahaha ohhhh no i dont let it hang out for the world to see! i guess i wasnt clear, the bulge shows when im fully clothed. instead of my jeans sitting flat against my body you can tell i have a pooch that hangs a little low. i guess i will buy a shaper, from what everyone says it should fit for a while. from the "style" stuff i have read i shoot for shirts that fall no longer than my wrist when my hands are down by my side, thats suposed to help keep me looking proportionate and not too short.

I knew what you meant!  I just meant to buy briefs instead of bikinis to put more layers on for smoothness.  Another suggestion for shirt lengths in not to go longer than your crotch.  Loris

Walmart has a great girdle (shaper) that is unexpensive and will last awhile... bought 2 last year, wore them both extensively and now replacing them a year later... they hold everything together better and clothes seem to fit better over them... (didn't wear undies due to additional lines showing but no troubles with the snaps after i got used to the idea!)

I haven't bought a Spanx yet, but it's on my to do list this weekend, as everyone I know of on here and even at work rave about them!

Before I had heard of them, I bought a shaper at Kohl's.  Forgot the brand, I think it's called ComfortFit by one of the brand name bra companies and I LOVE it.  It's like a tank top and it holds in everything, and now I am able to wear form fitting tops, that I haven't been able to wear in years!

I found some great undies at JC Pennies, I think they are called delicates.  They have some elasticity in them.  They seem to hold things in better than just cotton.  Also go for the high-cut briefs, rather than bikini as it gives you more coverage in that area.

I do have some "shapewear" type panties, but only use them for special occasions as mine tend to get uncomforable after a while.  I may look for some more expensive ones has I get further out.  These were bought at walmart, I think 3 for $10.

I am also 5'2", and find the best length for shirts is right to the bottom of your panni.  No longer.   Also I stay away from stretchy pants, including jeans.  Something that seems a little tighter around the stomach will hold everything in better and the more substancial (sp.) the fabric of the pant the better.
