I can't imagine sugar free carnation breakfast would make you sick.  And cream of wheat with no sugar added has no sugar.  So that wouldn't make you sick.  Could you have eaten it too fast and it went into you lower intentines that could make you dump.  When did you have surgery?

July 27th, 09 was my surgery date. I am just over 3 months out.

Both the milk and cream of wheat are loaded with cabohydrates which are the same as sugar when it gets into your systen.....you just had too many carbs and dumped . In the future either one or the other.......not together.  I use Calorie Control milk............only 3 g of carbs per serving!

Ahhh, carbs, well, not to worry now, they are all gone.  Never thought about the carb issue, the cream of wheat was on my "cleared to eat by the surgeon list".  The milk and cream of wheat together, apparently a deadly combo.  I get up and learn something new every day.  Brother, I still am going to try the soy milk a try.  I assume oatmeal and carby grits would be out also.  Hmmm. I sure am getting tired of yogurt and cottage cheese.  Going to have to put my thinking cap on for this one.

I think they might get away because its sugar alcohols?  Not sure, but that is my hunch.  I am still pretty new to this stuff.  I cannot confirm or deny.  I can warn you it aint pretty.

It isn't labeled "sugar free."  It's labeled "no sugar added."  It is made from milk, and milk has sugar in it, so therefore it has sugar even though they don't add additional sugar to it.  You need to watch labels.  No sugar added does not mean sugar free.

Some things are really No sugar added rather than sugar free.  The milk products in the drinks have lactose (sugar), but they sweeten it with artificial sweetener.  Also, even though sugar alcohols aren't the same as sugar, they can give intestinal distress, which is different than dumping, but can be just as bad.

I might be wrong but I think it is natural milk sugars (alcohols) so its like no sugar added/ sugar free.  But the carb content is primarly natural sugars, for instance I have a strawberry chobani yogert in front of me and the total carbs is 20g dietary fiber less than 1g and sugars 19g - the sugars from the fruit and milk again natural sugar alcohols.  Correct me if I am wrong but I think that how my NUT explained it.
