No Caffine, Really??
My surgeon said it was a no-no for 3-4 months post op. As soon as he gave me the "go ahead" on it, I got some CLICK. So now, I have my coffee in the morning, but at least it has some nutritional benefit to it. (15g protein). It also insures that I actually have a protein drink in the morning...where before, I was drinking one, "if I felt like it". BAD ME!
At a month out, however. It really isn't going to do you any good. Your body is feeling drained because it's healing from a traumatic event. Get out and walk if you can. If not, do bicycle type moves at your desk, or on the couch. Movement, at this stage, will help A TON! Good luck

You have my permission. Go forth and drink.
Seriously---you're an adult, and it's YOUR decision. Do some research on-line, and weigh the true scientific value of the things you read. (For instance, a study published by the NHI is worth far more than one published in the Enquirer. *grin*) Then decide if YOU choose to have caffeine.
I drink about a GALLON of iced tea each and every day, and have since my surgery almost six years ago. No problems here.

I have it. I know tons of WLS patients who drink coffee - with *gasp* caffine. In fact, if you had been a bystander at the Atlanta Obesity Help Convention, you would have seen a bajillion folks with caffine-infused goodness in hand.
It all comes down to a personal choice. I figure that coffee is better than a chocolate milkshake any day! :) It's a "to each his own" kind of thing.
