3 wks out and 2oz gain
2 oz is NOTHING....
stay off the scale if you're going to fret about 2 oz.
I gained 2 pounds last week (I'm 7 weks out today)... no fretting.... our bodies let it go when they are good and ready.
I'd work on upping my fulids to 64 oz per day (not jus****er counts so if you are already up above 64 disregard)
Do not get dejected. Just keep doing what you're doing.

You are going to go through stalls as with any kind of weight loss. Do yourself a favor - take the scale to a friend or relatives house and only weigh yourself once a week. Otherwise you are going to be your worst enemy! Are you weighing yourself at the same time every day? Are you doing it first thing in the morning with no clothes on? That is the best time to weigh yourself. I can get on the scale in the morning before my shower and again when I get home from work and there can be sometimes a 1-3 pounds difference. That is normal. When you get up the next day you will see that additional 1-3 pounds is gone. You are three weeks out - your body is still adjusting. You probably have residuals from the surgery still in your system. Chill out - relax and stop beating yourself up. PUT THE SCALE AWAY!!

Everything sounds good, your body is adjusting to the restructering you just went through..You can up your liquids..you can up your protein to as much as 120 a day.
If you are anything like me, refried beans are great! That being said...it has over 500 grams of sodium and that kills me. I start swelling up. I have water pills that I take to counter balance. Maybe boil some pintos yourself.
Now relax, it didn't take you 3 weeks to put on the weight and it isn't going to take 3 weeks to lose it. Your a mechanically different now. You have restriction as well as malabsorption. They just rerouted your guts and its going to take time for your body to adjust.
Your gonna lose it...and then you can go shopping and pick out a bikini...
Be patient..

I know exactly how you feel! I didn't loose anything, not one stinking pound, my whole first month...I actually gained a few pounds in the hospital matter of fact. I am 12 weeks today and have lost 52 pounds and sometimes I still feel like it's not enough. I too stress myself out really bad with the scale. The first month it was nothing for me to weigh myself a couple a times a day. I have noticed when I stay away from the scales I do so much better! Good luck and keep doing what you are doing. It will come!
Thanks i appreciate your response it gives me hope. I know I wrote I gained 2 oz in a week and people didnt like that I wrote that but I was just figured hmm I went thru surgery to lose weight and now I go a whole entire week with out losing, this I could have done without surgery.
I also gained over 10 lbs in the hospital so now I had to lose that weight again then start on my journey.
Thanks again
