For all your RNYer's out there. Where is the hair loss begin? Around the edge, or does it come out in the top of the head? Or does it just fall out in clumps. I rememeber my surgeon saying at the 2 month time frame after surgery to expect it.
So I am almost at that point and well I guess it is time for me to lose some hair.
Also is it just the hair on the head? Or do you also have hair loss all over your body?

So after 8 months you have not lost any hair? Did you take anything to prevent this? I bought some pills from GNC, but they smelled funny so I only took them once.
Nope, I haven't lost any hair and I didn't take anything to prevent it.
I do get in 80 to 100 grams of protein in a day and I take my multivitamin and supplements religiously.
The only thing I have noticed is that my hair is a lot dryer than normal, but conditioning it daily has fixed that.

Proud mama of Mischa and Gabriel, both born post-op.
Well that would make you a very lucky girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was not so lucky I started loosing around 3months and didnt stop till now 6months later. It came out evenly for me like shredding really bad I started with alot and ended up with a little lol. No bald spots thank goodness. I got all my protein in and took all my vitamins but it didnt help at all! Now Im taking 2500 or Biotin to help the new growth if that is possible. Well good luck and I hope your one of the lucky ones

i started losing my hair around 4 months post-op. im 5 months out and hoping it stops soon. i dont have any bald spots, it seems to be coming out all over my head equally. so my hair looks and feels thinner all over. i guess thats better than coming out in clumps and having actual bald spots. its pretty thin now so i really hope it atleast eases up a little bit since from what i read i have a couple more months of hair loss to deal with. good luck with your hair!
Yes we all loose some hair. I take biotin 5000mg 2 x daily...My hairdresser says it's growing back and I have tons of new hair. I had my surgery a month after you! If you haven't lost any yet you should be safe. It was in my brush but not in clumps ....Good Luck girl...and stop the pizza thing or you will gain what you have lost BACK! The one nightmare I'm afraid of! Hugs Patty

Great I was hoping a veteran would respond! Is it just head hair that you lose?
