Because if you LOVED us, you would know!  My suggestion is to ask her friends to help you out.  Have her friend, someone you trust have her "help" shop and keep notes of what things she looks at, what things she likes ect.  Her friend can give you the list and you are then the perfect man!

It's not that we try to make it hard for men, it's just that gifts mean different things to men and women. For a woman, a gift is more valuable when it shows that the giver KNOWS what she likes and REMEMBERS it.  Quick story...friend is dating two men, one can't remember her phone #, the other buys her a particular chocolate bar on their second date because he remembered that she mentioned in passing (on their first date) that it was her favourite.  So she dumps the first guy, marries the second guy and 12 yrs later they're still happy.  'nuff said.
Merry christmas

I got a new dishwasher for Christmas once.

I'm divorced. ;)

Seriously, I think it has to do with the attention factor.  I for one have gotten my BF 2 things he has shown interest in when we were out, etc and 2 things I think he will like...so he gets something I know he wants and something that is more personal and will be total surprises.

(by the way...diamonds are never wrong)

Somewhere inside me, there is a fat girl just dying to get back out. I mostly just try to keep her subdued with sugar free pudding, but she's not amused.

I love being surprised on Christmas morning. It's the kid in me. I want to believe in Santa Claus.

But my husband doesn't have to prove his love for me. He shows me every day, in so many ways. So the fact that he's clueless at Christmas is something I've learned to live with. And I'm just as clueless. Rarely have I ever been able to come up with a surpise gift for him that he loved. Actually, twice. Once was a digital picture frame filled with family pics, for his office. The other was a great set of wireless headphones which he uses every day. This was more for me than him though, since I freaking HATE the sound of the TV. LOL

We pick out our own Christmas gifts at this point.
