I'm 4 months out, 2 days ago. I'm craving sunflower seeds. I would like to have them, but I don't know if I can/if I'm allowed too. Or should I just stick with my 1/4 cup of roasted almonds? Any advice?

well some people will think i am of my rocker for suggesting this but....... I eat sunflower seeds, nuts all those health fats and i dont have any problems with them and i lose weight just as stead and quickly as every one else. its been 4 - 5 months since my surgery and i am down 90 pounds. I also eat a lot of healthy whole grain carbs! Its your choice, but i would have an once if you really want some.

Thanks. I also eat whole grain carbs and some of those fats we're not "supposed to". I may have an ounce.

If you can eat nuts, you should be able to eat sunflower seeds, too.

When did you start eating almonds, nuts, etc?  Just wondering how long I have to wait :)

I had peanut butter at about 1-1/2 to 2 months--that was a mistake because it felt weird going down, like, sticky. I ate almonds for the first time about 3 weeks ago--3-1/2 months out.

But I think it would be about how you tolerate things.

If nuts & seeds are on your approved food list, then why not... just don't eat the shells... unless they're on the approved list too... i'm only saying this because i used to eat shell and all when i was little!!!  yeah, i was nuts....

No, I wouldn't eat the shell. But I did occasionally was I was a little girl too. Lol. So... you were nuts about nuts then, huh? Lmao.

I started eating them at 8 weeks out when I was released to no restrictions.  I try to only eat the low sodium ones (in shells) and no I don't eat the shells.

I love them - they can be addicting.   So I try to limit to once a week.
