Caltrate is Calcium Carbonate. RNY requires Calcium Citrate. Carbonate needs acidic environment and can cause kidney stones later on.

I like the BA chewy bites. They are Citrate. 250mg per chew, I take 8 chews a day (4 x daily)  2 chews per dose.

Those should be just fine. I haven't tried them yet for taste.

3 (1500mg) or 4 (2000mg) per day.

I know your pain! I order my BA chewy bites (half chocolate/ half lemon) in 3 month lots in general to get the savings on shipping (free). Hubby laughs at me when I take out 4 from each flavor, and then shake them like dice to put in my snack bag in my pocketbook. It is then a mystery what I will get. I do "peek" to see what I won.... but if I happen to get 1 choc/1 lemon..... I eat the choc first. I don't like the taste of the lemon before..... Games we play huh?

I will take them if you don't like them, want my addy? Never tried those but heard good taste tests posts. Just make sure you TAKE them! LOL

oooh I always take them! didn't at first, but then my dr yelled at me, hit me in the arm and put me in time out for 20 minutes lol she said after all the challenges you have had and overcome...THIS is the thing you won't do?

So i now take all my vitamins on a regular basis lol she even sent me for an eye exam to make sure there was no damage...yikes!

Thank you Horseplay for your advice & I may use it in the future but for now, my calcium is better than what is was before surgery. I am the one taking the Tropical Oasis.

CALCIUM  mine is 9.2 & the range is 8.5 - 10.2 mg/dL
