Ugh! So tired of textese!
When I see all the text abbreviations, nine times out of ten I can't read it anyhow.
It drives me bonkers when my son is at his Dads for the weekend and I text him, How are you doing? Then he sends me back a "k".
"K"???????? I gave birth to you, I changed your diapers! I bought you that phone! I expect more than a "K"
Oh wait that would be a lower case "k" of course.
When I taught I actually had students who would write "idk" on a test, makes you think this country is screwed in 20 years.
*Expletive omitted as to not offend since this is the MB and not everyone wants to see/hear it.

HTFU= Harden The F**k Up!

only watch if you are not offended by naughty words
and a little edumacation from Urban Dictionary:
Harden The F**k Up
Used to tell a weak person or persons that they have become far too weak, and to prevent further embarrasment to the human race, they must Harden The F**k Up.
So HTFU gamcaco4 and get over it srsly, it's the webernetz!
I can't help it. I really laugh all the time. I really do laugh out loud - and mostly when I am typing because I (and most others) think that I am pretty funny.

I think I also do it because I have been the victim of some stick-in-the-ass taking a funny/sarcastic comment as me being bluntly rude.
However, I would NEVER use it in a business text, but all others are fair-game!!!
Since we are laying them out there - the one that grates on my nerves the most is "hehe". I don't know why, but I HATE that one!! LOL
You get my vote as well.
Although I try, I do not always have the best grammar and spelling.
Another thing that bugs me is the over-use of those little smiley faced things. One or two in a post is ok, but when it's just FULL of them - I usually have to just skip over reading the post altogether.
I also hate the use of the word "prolly" in place of "probably". Ack.

"The occasional emotion like "LOL" doesn't make me pull my hair out, either. It's the OVER USE of this "language" that apparently drives me to near insanity."
So, when you actually read that, it is very clear that I don't mind LOL, LMAO, ROFL, etc. Hell, I don't even care if it is a full sentence, but when it is a post that is several sentences (which should usually be broken into at least a couple of paragraphs, but we won't go there today), it does get hard to read. I will have to find the post that I read a week or two ago that was so hard to read b/c of it.
