Get ready to throw sh*t at me. I'm used to it.

I haven't seen Carnie Wilson, except in a rare photo, since a talk shown she had eons ago--maybe mid-90's. I didn't even know she has any current shows. But her name has certainly been mentioned on this board and others over the years.
My reaction: we are all human and fallible. So Carnie isn't skinny and Playboy ready, so she's making another personal choice to get unstapled. So big hairy deal. That does NOT affect us unless we choose to make it affect us (and even then, it shouldn't). So are we going to come down on Britney Murphy because she might have died last month for being TOO SKINNY? No, we'll collectively mourn for the beautiful life lost and isn't it sad she struggled this way. Yes, it is sad. It's sad that any of use have burdens that affect our health, our most basic self. BUt it is also part of life.
I don't see Carnie's choices as an advertisement for failed or successful WLS. At least she's honest about it all. Oprah on the other hand? I see her magazine, O, and all the Photoshopping done to make her look curvy and health and then I catch 5 minutes at the end of her show occasionally and well, she's overweight--maybe 50-60# heavier than her curent magazine image. Why is that? No wonder no one accepts themsevles lovingly just as they are. Our role models--or at least those that get the most editorial space--are so far from real.
Carnie--I wish you well. I wish you health that allows you to enjoy life and your family for a long time. Just remember, it's hard to do that at 300#.

As far as Jillian Michaels goes......my guess is she is fit and slim because she eats right and works her butt off. I bet we would all look similar to her if we ate and exercised exactly as she does.
