That's the right stuff.  But how large a dose do you need?  If you need a bigger dose, vitalady has.

if you're only going for 1000 mg, I'd just go pickup some dry d3 at your local Target, pharmacy or Walmart (I just did). They're cheaper or you get a whole lot more for the same price if you buy local. Just make sure you read the label to ensure it is dry.

I've bought 2000 mg from my local Vitamin Shoppe as well.

If you need a whole lotta Vitamin D3, Vitalady sells some really big dosages.

Best of luck.

This is my deal...I live in South Florida..used to take it as a suppliment prior to surgery because during the hot months, I stay out of the sun from April to October.  I wanted to start adding it because hot weather is coming and I just wanted to add some to my diet.  What kind of a dosage do you think I should take?

Recommendations vary depending on who you talk to but the Vitamin D Council (or is it the Council on Vitamin D?  Whatever) recommends 1000 - 2000 IU for "normal people," meaning people who have not had WLS.  So it stands to reason that we probably need more than that.  You have some in your multi, probably either 200 IU or 400 IU per tablet, and you're taking two of those a day, so you're already getting either 400 IU or 800 IU per day.

Have you had labs done lately?  If not, I'd start with either 1000 or 2000 IU daily, then get your labs done sometime soon and see where you stand.
