chewable calcium -- please help

There are many days that I go out and need to take my calcium with me and it would be much more convenient to take some chewables with me rather than to take my citrical.  I checked out bariatric advantage and am debating between the chewy bites - chocolate and the cherry lozenges - how do they taste?  I know I like the taste of viactiv - do the chewy bites taste anything like the viactiv and do the cherry lozenges taste anything like centrum silver chewables? I like them.  I don't want to buy something and then hate the taste.  I saw celebrate  has chewies also but I hate lemon.

The Bariatric Advantage Chocolate Lozenges are AWFUL.
I can not get those down at all. Just say NO!

Funny how all our "tastes" are so different. Over the past 8 yrs I've tried just about everything, and I LOVE the chocolate BA calcium chewables-way better than the other flavors.

The chewy bite things tend to have to an aftertaste. The newer lemon ones cause me to dump, but they taste real good.

Good luck finding what works for YOU!

Tums aren't a great source for you as you don't have a high stomach acid content for you to break down the carbonate in them.

You can read about it more here if you're interested.

I could not do the chewables and I had celebrate strawberry and hot cocoa, I even had samples of the bariatric advantage chewable vitamins and the texture *BAHHHH GAG*.

I do citracal petites. They work!

GNC has a chocolate and caramel chewy bites and they are good.  They are only 7 dollars and it's well worth it and it gives ya your calcium plus something extra for that candy taste that we all need and want.

Are they citrate or carbonate?  Keep in mind that carbonate does not work in RNY guts due to the low acid content.  You can read more about that here if you'd like.

Contact the companies that make chewables, like Celebrate, Bariatric Advantage, and Building Blocks, and ask them to send you samples. Best to try before buying. I like the BA cherry lozenges myself.

I've had the chocolate chews -- they aren't bad.

I've had the new lemon calcets -- they are phenomenal.  I know you hate lemon -- and I only mention this because there is a chocolate on the way so I can only hope that the chocolate is just as ******ic (yes, really, THAT GOOD) as the lemon is.

So I'd get something for now, and then hope that the chocolate calcets (which were supposed to be out this past December...) hurry up and get produced live up to reputation and you like them and can use them for your needs.
