Okay, I know its a long shot, but I'm looking for other people who are about my height and bone structure that can tell (or show) me what a good weight for me is.  I've never been small so I don't have a clue what i'd look like at a reasonable weight.  Since, I'm so short the recommended weight for me is close to 100lb. That seems waaayy to small for me.  My primary care physician agrees with me that my bone structure is too large to weight only 100 pounds. Uhm, for the record my frame is not abnormally BIG, but it does classified as large.  Anyway, can someone please tell me a weight they have found to look nice (not too boney) for a short woman???

That does seem too small.  I'm 5'2" with a large frame and I'm aiming for 130 lbs.  I've been there before a long time ago.  Maybe 120-130 lbs would work for you.  You won't really know until you get there!

NothingButJoy,

You have your goal weight set at 148, that is still overweight.

Calculate your BMI @ http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/   for a normal weight

I am 5'1 and my goal weight is 119, set by my surgeon for a healthy weight.

PLEASE do NOT rely on BMI to determine your "ideal" or even "healthy" weight. BMI is a math formula and does NOT take in to account our age, body structure, years of yo yo dieting and other factors. Although many still rely on it BMI version of normal is often unrealistic, inaccurate and at times borders on absurb. I know many athletes that are in prime condition with very little fat on their bodies and on no planet overweight that appear so based on their BMI.
That having been said I am 5 ft tall, 53 years old, female and my frame is not petite (whatever the hell that means)
My weight is currently between 120 - 125 on any  given day, I am wearing size 4 or 6 and look awesome.
My PCP and nutritionist all feel I am at an ideal weight for me.
Whatever you do is it truthful, necessary and kind?

It doesn't matter what the scale says. What matters is where you feel healthy and happy.

I am 5'2 and and was told that 140 would be an ideal weight for me.  I am medium boned and would like to weigh less than that if possible.

I am 5'4" and my doctor is aiming for me to be 140.  I think that is too thin,  however, the doctor knows best  .  .  . right?!?  lol  Being healthy is my goal, the number on the scale isn't  all that important if I am healthy.

Actually, the doctor does not know best, I think the numbers many of them give are to encourage you to continue to lose weight and they don't really expect you to reach that number in many cases.  Just my 2 cents...
