Ok you guys --- I bought some plain vanilla protein powder and I'm looking to switch things up sometimes with a flavor (or two) of Torani's ---- what are the best kinds to get? (I ask because I hate the sometimes bitter aftertaste that these types of products leave behind.)
I actually use DaVinci SF syrups, but same idea. :)
In Vanilla Shakes:
Strawberry
Butterscotch
Black Cherry
Peach
Coconut
Caramel
P.S. I also use the above flavors in my plain greek yogurt to avoid the sugar in the pre-sweetened greek yogurt - DELISH
In Chocolate Shakes:
Hazelnut
Coconut
Irish Creme
Peppermint Patty (my fave)
Peanut Butter
Black Cherry
Butterscotch
Caramel

I'm just curious - does it take you a long time to mix your syrups in the greek yogurt? I just got some SF Torani Strawberry and Caramel, and they just don't seem to be blending well with my Yoplait greek yogurt. I haven't tried it yet with Fage or my usual Oikos, though, but it seems like the syrup just doesn't want to mix in with the yogurt.
Thanks!
Thanks!
It's hard to mix them inside the small cups...not enough room to really get in there and stir. So, I buy the larger tubs of plain greek yogurt (do you have a Trader Joes near you?). I dump 2 tubs into a large mixing bowl, add enough syrup to flavor all of the yogurt (or start with a little and add more until it tastes perfect), and wire whis****il mixed. This works BEAUTIFULLY. It also thins out the greek yogurt a bit so the consistency is more like regular yogurt, which I think is great! Then, once it is mixed, I pour the yogurt back into the 2 tubs. It's nice because I have enough for several servings mixed already and readily available so you don't have to keep mixing a little single serving cup every time you want some yogurt. Each time I make a batch, I switch up the flavors to keep it interesting. I am addicted to greek yogurt, however, and eat about 3-4 servings per day. Strawberry-Coconut, and White Chocolate-Peach are my fave mixtures...I like to get creative. I have about 12 flavors of SF syrup on demand at all times. Hope this helps! :)
Thank you SO much - what a great idea! That will save money, too, since the big tubs are cheaper than the single serving containers. I have a Trader Joe's very close by but I've never tried their brand of greek yogurt (even though it must be less expensive) - I usually either get Oikos at Whole Foods or Fage at the grocery store, but I always get the single serves instead of the big tubs. I'll start mixing batches and I even have containers so I can di**** out and bring it with me on the go. I'm a major greek yogurt fan too (love the creamy taste and it helps so much with getting in protein with low calories), and I've just learned how good it is with the Torani and was trying to think of some way to bring it with me in my lunch or for a snack. Big batches are perfect! I really appreciate your reply - I love this board! I never would have thought of that idea on my own.
I'm not a fan of the syrups, but I love to mix Sugar Free pudding powders with Vanilla Protein powder. Lately, I've been mixing in the White Chocolate to make a creamy, lite hot chocolate. My favorite drink though has to be Chai Tea - made with ho****er, one Spiced Chai decaff tea bag (I think it's Bigelow brand), and a scoop of vanilla protein powder mixed with a couple ounces of vanilla soy. Mix it all together - easy and yummmmmy!!
