Hi All
Thanks for the answers and the funny stories.  I am thinking hiccup=enough even though sometimes it does't seem like much.

For the most part I eat most meals at home and if I'm going to be away, I'll pack a lunch.    Tonight, eating out was unavoidable.  I find myself really anxious when eating out as I don't know how the food will sit, also was famished so was taking extra care to chew, chew, chew and not eat too fast.  Well I was so engrossed in the meal that I didn't realize that I was ripping some loud burps (like I would at home to relieve the pressure****il I looked up a saw a mortified look on my DH's face.  Oops.. we won't be back there anytime soon !

I found this thread searching 'hiccups' - it is some relief to hear other folks get them.  I hiccup every time I eat.  Take a bite, chew, swallow, hiccup 3-5 times.  Wait a few minutes, take another bite, process repeats.  It is SO predictable.  And annoying.  Worse with solid foods.  I still consume a lot of soup, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc - and then it isn't so bad.   My DH is about to start having meals alone.  Happens every time, breakfast, lunch, dinner.  Once I hiccup 3-5 times I stop until I take another bite.  Speed or volume do not affect the response.  It has been this way since surgery.
