Im about 4 years out and had about average hair loss in the begining... but my hair seems different now. Ive allways had really curly hair and the last few years even when i use mouse it doesnt curl like it used to.

Is it just me or has anyone elses hair changed?

I'm really a perfect size six, I just keep it covered in fat so it doesnt get scratched.

Sometimes anesthesia can change your hair. My cousin had hair as straight as a pin and then after a surgery its sooooo curly!

surgery and anesthisia can affect your body and hair but also everyones body changes every 7 years or so that can include the texture and curliness of hair. take it from a beautician here its totally normal.

I inquired with the anesthesiologist and he denied any significant impact on hair loss.
It's a hormonal thing and due to the extreme change in nutrition.
I didn't realise the effects would be that far out of surgery, which also suggests that it's not the anesthetic.
My hair is thining lately, I am 10 weeks post-op. I was advised to take Biotin supplements.

Several people have posted in the past that they had straight hair, but when the hairs started growing back in, they grew back in curly or wavy.

Well I have always had really fine hair so it looks think anyway.  The stylists always insist I have lots of it it's just really fine and soft.  When I start losing it, I hope it comes back curly like my daughters.  That would be great!

We had a hairdresser come to our support meeting a few months ago, and he said that your hair will change post surgery. I went from thin curly hair to absolutely flat hair. Its still thin. I was told to embrace the changes! Its really hard after 40 years of curly to go flat!
