Thinning skin on arms
Hello ladies,
I'm not actually a WLS patient...but found your forum on google by "blood blisters on arms" believe it or not. I am 43 and have great skin on face, but have sun damage on topside of my forearms. I'm caucasian...fair/yellowish skinned but didn't really burn-- dark hair and green eyes. I do take prenatal vitamins (am still nursing my older baby daughter 1.5 y/o).
I also have blood blisters on my arms from time to time. I do not know what it is from but my skin on my forearms does appear to be thinning. I have also had blood on my arms from one breaking...it's kind of sad because my face thank goodness, is healthy looking. I use sunscreen every day when I wake up, even on arms/face...and I wear long sleeves to protect and hide my arms too. I'm also embarassed becuase of the terrible shape my skin is on my hands and forearms. I don't look like my arms and hands look...they look 30 years older than I am :(
All I can say is: Sun damage. I'll bet anything -- at least in my case, that's what it is...
I guess I just have to accept it. Will go to a dermatologist and plastic surgeons to ask if there is anything they can do to manage or correct the problem. I'm guessing not--
Was getting undressed for a shower tonight and saw this big blood blister on my arm...didn't remember ever pinching or bruising my arm at all...but I was carrying my backpack and perhaps just the weight of it slung on my arm did it. I have no idea. crazy!
Take care ladies and if I hear anything, I'll pass it on.
btw, I haven't had any testing done lately but I am assuming I'm healthy otherwise... Sun damage is probably culprit and others might want to think about that too.
I teach my daughter and son to wear sun screen every morning as a habit...it can't hurt! I didn't wear it and now i'm paying the price...thought I'd never sound like my parents lecturing about something haha
:)
